Now I can see what Cig wants to add more positions to the player personnel office, it must be chaos trying to sort through all of these guys and do reference checks before sending an offer.
I'd like to offer my services to HCCC.
I watch college football every Saturday from noon to midnight, and have been doing this for 20+ years, rarely missing a gameday.
Therefore, I am uniquely qualified to provide scouting services on the entire NCAA football landscape, to help pinpoint those players who will inevitably enter the portal at least once, likely twice, during their 5 year college window, and can help JMU challenge for that CFP spot.
I'll accept a modest salary for this work with no expenses needed to be reimbursed as I will be able to perform this work from my home office/couch.
Check that, I might need an upgrade to the latest 4K OLED TV to make sure I can clearly see the players I'm scouting. And a couple satellite TV's to watch multiple games at any one time. But that is all a small expense for the benefits received.

A nice summary of the outstanding portal offers from Noah at the DNR.

RE: 2023 Football Transfer Portal: Incoming
Appears to be heavily weighted to the FCS callups versus G5s moving lateral or P5s moving down. This was the case last year as well but I thought some of that was due to our transition - in that we had not yet proved the type of FBS team we would be, but the FCS guys were being recruited on FBS > FCS.
With a top 25 ranking and 8-3 season under our belt, I wonder if the split is driven by strategy (such as offering an FCS WR with tape versus the P5 or G5 that doesn't have game film) or fact that more FCS teams were sitting on the couch last week or something else. I'm guessing there is a HCCC quote out there about this.
I also wonder what other SBC schools portal offers look like and if they have the same breakdown.

FCS players were able to enter the portal two weeks ago so that’s primarily why the offers are weighted there

Due to the confusion with Covid years redshirts etc does anyone know which of the WR graduated and if any of them have an extra year still?
Will be so glad when the last of the Covid year stuff is done with!!

Greene, Thornton and Ravenel. Reggie Brown is the only WR with significant playing time back which is the reason we have seen so many offers to Portal WRs.

On a whole, I'd rather have an elite FCS player over an average G5 or marginal P5. The top (in their minds) G5s/P5s are shooting for the stars. Saw one of the G5s we offered got one from Deon, probably lots of them holding out for offers like that.
Maybe we'll get some that come back down to Earth after the P5s feast.

Updated the original post with everyone Noah has listed here, definitely a decent amount who we hadn't caught on here for whatever reason. Or maybe that I missed when they were posted here.
I also put their remaining eligibility in parenthesis although there are some I'm not totally 100% sure about. Plenty mention it when they tweet about entering the portal but not all so for those I just did my best based on how many years they've played and whether or not they played through COVID, and also how Noah has them listed. Should be pretty accurate, but you all know that sometimes things are a little different than they appear there so always possible some could have one more year than I realize.

Nice, that could be the extra depth we need and competition for Barnett without running anyone off or shooting for the unlikely scenario of a second solid QB transfer with a year or two remaining.

Thanks for keeping this all compiled nice and neatly with the original post. It’s not easy as the portal is nuts.

Haha no problem at all! It helps that I've been sick as hell all week so a lot of sitting/laying around bored out of my mind Having you and others share them here as they come in has definitely made it pretty easy to keep up with so far though
