RE: OT: World Cup
well that first 10 mins sucked ... Pulisic misses a point blank chip shot ~2 mins. in ... then the US gets sloppy on D and Memphis (unguarded in the middle) hits the one-timer from about the 15...

Dutch up one early...

So close. Had Pulicic scored at the 2 minute mark, who knows.

The Dutch are so clinical. Even though they are ranked #8, I can easily see them getting past Argentina.

Tough break. Hopefully we get some more strikers by 2026. A lot of positives to built on.

they were playing 2 up front and packed in their middle D ... and yeah, maybe the Pulisic whiff would've changed things, but we were outgunned ... our D needs serious att'n if the US is going to improve on the world stage...

Don’t worry…we’re young and 2026 will be different!

No. This is not our sport. I cheer for the team but I recognize our place in the pecking order.

Yeah, the forwards and mids will still be on their primes in 4 years. Reyna looks like he will be a superstar, but the defense has question marks.

I have no rooting interest anymore, but Brazil is just on another class when they turn it on. Individual technical skills, insane passes and ball movement, sound ball control, fast counter attack speed, etc. Reminding us why soccer is fun

American soccer teams will never be that successful on the world stage because the best American athletes are always going to football, basketball, or baseball over soccer.

We have enough athletes to be dominate is every sport, what we don't have are the development leagues like Europe does to prepare these athletes.

RE: OT: World Cup
If soccer in U.S. is of higher quality, it would be more entertaining and attract interest domestically. Future generations of elite athletes would grow up idolizing soccer. U.S. soccer infrastructure is lacking as well. Chicken or egg first kind of deal.

It is a shame that the U.S. national team is what it is. The difference in skill gap is pretty apparent on the international stage.
