Women play UNC at the AUBC at 2:00 today. The team has been playing much better lately so hopefully they can continue that this afternoon.

I am anxious to see how Caroline is doing and if she will be able to play today. Hope so!!

If we can keep this to a 10 point game, that’ll be a win.

Watching this game and wondering how so many girls are nursing third degree burns on their legs. Either that or the budgets are that tight they had to cut all the tights in half and distribute them one leg covering each.03-shhhh

I was actually pretty pleased with the way the ladies hung in there against the #13 ranked team. They are coming together pretty nicely as a mix-and-match unit, as near as I can tell. They did get a little raggedy in the final quarter, but I think they can overcome that.
Those refs, though. Either called every little thing (including flops, where nobody touched anyone) or didn't call things that happened right in front of them, like the event that had Peyton going to the locker room with a towel over her face, or the one that put Cheyenne Rowe on the floor. Anybody know where those three blind mice came from?

Looks like the women hung right with them for most of the game and especially looks like Keke had a great game. I was hoping to at least have it streaming for the rest of my car and for me to hear on the drive home but damn North Carolina cell phone service 01-lauramac2 Good to see a respectable showing from both the men and women vs #1/#13 though, just wish we could've gone to both!

This was a game JMU could have won. I can’t say “should have won” but it was definitely a 50-50 proposition. The Lady Dukes played UNC even up for three quarters, but mysteriously fell apart in the 4th. I’m still trying to fathom where the wheels fell off, but turn the page, learn from the loss, and move on.

for me it was mid-3rd when Kiki scored on like 4 possessions in a row and UNC took a look at our stats and saw zeros next to anybody not named Kiki or Peyton. Nobody else could score yesterday. They bodied up on Kiki and smothered us down the stretch. We hung with them for a long time though.

Bad stretch in the late 3rd early 4th with a combination of 1) missed layups 2)...I hesitate to call them "careless" turnovers but our ballhandlers/rebounders losing it off their own hands or feet 3) a few offensive fouls.

We played exceptionally clean ball against the #13th ranked team in the nation for a majority of the game. There's just no wiggle room for the above 3 against a team of that caliber, especially clustered in 8-10min of play.

RE: WBB vs UNC 2:00 p.m. 11/20/22
Thought the women played well mostly yesterday but got beat by a bigger, slightly faster and more talented team. Teams like UNC have 4-6 stars while mid majors like JMU usually have one or two and the talent level usually wins out. Was a very entertaining game overall.

Did notice that K. Toure was not there. Anyone know what was up with that? Really could have used her size at times in the game. Also with Annalicia and Mikaya still out that crimps the center/forward positions, they would certainly have been a help yesterday also. Saw that Caroline was in a boot so I guess she will be out for a while. Jamia ran the point fairly well yesterday in her absence.

Hope the missing players heal up soon and the Dukes can have close to a full roster by the time conference play starts.

I remain impressed with Williams and Sterling. Chloe Sterling is kind of obviously patterning herself after Texas PG Rori Harmon, right down to the hairdo, and doing a dang good job of it too! As she develops, she's going to be a very good PG. She's quick and has mad skills, just needs to develop them further. Amira Williams is amazingly quick and a good defender. If she gets more opportunities she will be able to score more too. Just need to undo some of that bad coaching she got at CoC.
