Ken I REALLY want this game! Eight wins, the Michigan MAC trophy and getting the McElwain monkey off Crieghton's back mean more to me than beating a disappointed P5 team with players sitting it out.

By the way, me and Alum93 will be joining you and Serge in the suite for it.

wait you guys have a suite?

Ken has seats in the Presidential Suite for the season. I get invited for a game when I make my $10K contribution, not exactly a bargain.

RE: @Game Week: CMU
I think a lot of this game will come down to the mindset CMU has about it. There is no MAC-west, no bowl, no Michigan MAC (although if they win no one wins it, and since they won it last year do they keep it?) for them. In addition to that, since Eastern can't win the MAC-west and they are already bowl eligible there isn't really much to spoil about our season (outside of the Michigan MAC). So it is really about the rivalry and and stopping Eastern from getting the Michigan MAC. How much will they care about that...we shall see. If they come out just going through the motions trying to get to the offseason, we should probably roll. If they are motivated it'll be a battle and a tough game to win.

Central was 3-1 in the four games before the WMU with some pretty impressive wins, and I don't know how much you can take from the WMU games since it was in a snow storm. So outside of that game they have been playing pretty well of late.

Even with Lew Nichols out for a part of the year they have run the ball well. Stopping the run has been a major issue for us this year, however the last few weeks we have done a better job of that. CMU has basically been playing three QBs lately, but it seems like Richardson is kind of taking a backseat lately. As 'bovin pointed out it seems like Emanuel is getting a lot of time (a lot of that last week was probably the snow). He averages eight yards a carry with over 200 yards against Buffalo, but doesn't throw the ball. In the three games he has played in he didn't throw the ball against NIU and only threw it 3 times in each game against Buffalo and WMU. I'm very worried about him shredding our defense with his legs. I'd expect to see more of Jase Bauer than last week since the weather is supposed to be nice

I've very curious to see what we do at QB. Can Smith play, and if so how much will he? As I mentioned the weather being nice, even if Smith is perfectly fine, I hope we see Powell at least part of the game. He has shown that when given time he can really pick a part a defense and we'll need him if we hope to throw on them. Howie being out hurts, but it should be a game Evans should be able to get it going on the ground as they give up 150 yards a game on the ground.

This is definitely a game we can win, but given our recently struggles with CMU, our struggles at home, and their ability to run the ball...I don't have a great feeling about it.

RE: @Game Week: CMU
Lew Nichols hasn't been 100% for most of the season, and Samson actually has more yards per game. Not saying we can overlook him at all, but between his injuries and CMU losing multiple OL starters from last year, they aren't the same rushing threat as last year. Plus our rush D is improved from last year. We no longer are a bottom 2 rush defense in the MAC.

For sure, and more than that I think we have improved against the run even from the beginning of the season.

As far as Nichols goes, as you say we can't overlook him. He certainly hasn't had the season he had last year, but he is a very talented player. Hopefully his fumble issues pop up and we can take advantage. Even with his down year they still average 160 yards a game on the ground...and it's actual Emanuel I'm more worried about this year.

Emanuel is incredible as a running QB. 24 carries and 293 yards against Buffalo absolutely boggles the mind! The good news is that he appears to be far less effective throwing the ball.

I have a degree of fatigue about our incessant declarations of an upcoming game being the "biggest of Creighton's career", but I wholeheartedly agree with you Hawk on this one.

Eight regular season wins, and the Michigan MAC trophy would be milestone achievements. Lay an egg and we end up with the EXACT same conference record as the Chips and perhaps WMU as well. A "W" here has to change the recruiting dynamic in a BIG way. Personally, I want this one more than any other in the last ten years.

Very well said! 8-4, and 5-3 changes everything! Losing to A 4-7 CMU team, and finishing 7-5, and 4-4 simply is an enormous difference!

IMHO, Creighton’s “biggest career game” was against Toledo. This one doesn’t come close to the importance of that game. However, an 8-win season with a Michigan MAC trophy is a significant sign of progress.

Interestingly, the line is dead even.

Agree. If it weren't for giving up that big play on 4th and long against UT then today's game would be for the MAC West, the Michigan MAC, and a 9-3 record. Can't look back though. 8 wins and the Michigan MAC with a win over CMU would be very nice.

RE: @Game Week: CMU
Good luck to the Eagles today! I’ll be in the stands to support our seniors and team!! What a great day weather wise for a late November game. One thing for sure, with a win, Creighton secures his best regular season. A win today and a bowl win could spring board us into being a favorite to contend for the MAC title next season.

Next season our DL will have some experience and depth. Need to find a way to win today.

My prediction:

EMU 31 CMU 27 if EMU has 160 yards rushing
CMU 31 EMU 27 If EMU has 100-120 yards rushing

Go Eagles!

Really interested in seeing who the QB is for Eastern today. Smith? Powell? Maybe Powell with McCoy getting a few reps?

Indeed. Game is rated even.

Which means I'd do better guessing the t he temps in 48197 on Dec. 21, the S&P next Friday, etc.

They tell me the only certainty are death, taxes and Russian elections. And maybe the outcome of porn films. Lol.

Actually, if we had won the Toledo game, today's game would NOT be for the MAC-west. We would have already clinched the MAC-west and be headed to Detroit regardless of today's game.

It has taken me a half to get CBSSN streaming to work on my phone. DIdn't work on my tablet.

Don't expect me to have any great insights like the RG missed his block on a trap play.

That 4th down play was 95% run. CMU was ready. Should have TO and changed the play.
