We really cleaned up the play in the 2nd Half. We had 7 TO's at halftime.

In the first half eleven different players played at least 4 minutes. In the second half only seven players played (none of the freshmen or Rice played). WM shot worse in the second half and got blocked more, but TOs went way down, steals went way up, as did trips to the FT line. Army’s three point percentage went way down in the second half as well.

Agree. Glad to see he’s getting some quality minutes.

Mr. Milkereit appears to have the best grasp of the Bill Russell adage that basketball is a horizontal, not vertical, game out of all the Tribe players. Hated to see him coming out of yesterday’s game. His six rebounds were all strong and at important junctures. His threes will start to fall. Deserves more minutes.

It was clear that Dane wanted a defensive minded group on the court in the second half. That was the difference. Army got a lot of open looks in the first half, but they struggled to get easy looks in the second half. It was a good sign also to see some of the players during timeouts being vocal and showing leadership. Case stood out. Milkereit should be getting more minutes going forward.

Good to get the W. Happy to see a strong game from Jake, and maybe even better to see Dane make some in-game adjustments - on personnel at least.

I had a chance to sit on the floor yesterday, and it was cool to see such great intensity, especially on defense, from Milkreit. Also, his buddies were right behind us going nuts.

RE: W&M vs ARMY - basketball
Jake has looked more athletic with every additional season further from his high school injury. His play generally has hinged on his confidence. If he's playing confidently like he was against Army, he'll be an asset. I think everyone here is hoping this is the year it all comes together for him. He's a great kid and a fan favorite for sure.

I've been impressed by the way Case carries himself on the floor. With the large number of new players, it makes sense that there was a leadership vacuum and I'm glad to see players like Case and Dorsey step in to fill that void.

We're still missing too many shots around the rim, but for one game at least, we looked like we might fulfill the promise so many here have hoped for.
