14-0. UC with the turnover and some decent running plays.

Does UC have a QB sack in this game?

Not pretty, but a win anyway. Temple played tough on defense but their offense was shut down today.

UC wins with backup QB.
No reason to ever go to criminal Philly again.

Please Doss, this is completely unnecessary. Philadelphia is, after all, the place where this great nation was born, and where our founding principles of liberty and self-government are rooted.

RE: ***OFFICIAL CINCINNATI @ TEMPLE GAME THREAD***
So, just back from the game...
On the experience:
1) The Linc is a really great stadium. I can't imagine what it's like on an Eagle game day. Ended up parking in Lot K, right near the stadium and with the Temple crowd it was easy-in and easy-out.
2) The Temple Band is really good. Played well and at the right times. Without the band there, the stadium was deadly quiet. But the Band is top-notch.
3) It was COLD. At the start of the game, the wind was blowing right into the "North" endzone...where I was sitting. Brrrr...
4) The food was FANTASTIC. At least the Cheesesteak I got at halftime. Expensive, but really good.
5) The Temple fans were all pretty nice, but not much energy. Again, thank God for the Band.
6) The Temple fans all headed for the exits at half-time. Which I found odd because usually the teams playing UC seem to have better second halves than the first, but Temple fans weren't sticking around to find out. An already thin crowd got even thinner, and by the mid-point of the 3rd Quarter there were easily as many UC fans there as there were Temple fans, excluding the Band. (Again, thank God for the Band!)
On the game:
1) I like what Temple has as a foundation of a team. I like what Coach Drayton is doing and I think he's got the foundation for a solid team going forward. Right now there are just too many pieces that are missing, but as the team develops, I look for good things in the future. The combination of Warner to Smith and Barbon can be potent. If Hubbard can get some blocking he can be something special.
2) UC continues to show what a weapon Special Teams can be. Fletcher can flip the field as the Punter, Coe has turned into a game-deciding weapon. Temple especially lacks a punter at the moment.
3) UC continues to baffle at play calling, especially inside the "Red Zone." Seriously. I don't know what the hell happens to this team inside the 10 yard line. Most teams, when they are looking at "First and Goal" from inside the 5 are salivating...UC chokes. I just don't get it.
4) ERRORS...UC seems to commit unforced penalties that kill their own drives, making a 3rd-and-short into a 3rd-and-long, or keeps other teams' drives alive.
I dunno. There wasn't anything shocking to say about this game. I wish Temple well in the future and both my son and I agreed that we'll have to get back down into Philly to catch an Owls game sometime when it isn't unpleasantly cold.

This whole thread is bad. He’s just the icing on the cake.
There’s smack talk, and there’s just being a dick. This thread is the latter.
Fans of schools like Temple and USF have been hung out to dry by their administrations for a long time coming. It’s hard to blame so many giving up. It’s not just about quality of the team but the connection to the school and to campus. The admins have repeatedly taken the easy way out and let their fans die on the vine unless they were next level dedicated. I’m not saying the fanbases are massive or anything but they never even gave them a chance to grow.
Why it’s 2022 and any school is playing at an NFL stadium for more than just a temporary measure is beyond me. It’s lazy and idiotic and kills the entire point of college football. You are literally showing your fans an inferior product in the stadium of a better option. It’s like they are trying to drive them away.
Temple’s more than held their own in multiple leagues but can never get any momentum going due to incompetent management of their athletic programs. Understand that the school may just not care that much about athletics, and that’s fine, but I’m not going to **** on the fans when they’ve been given virtually nothing to hold onto.
Quite frankly, if the school/admin is going to treat athletics like they have, then they truly shouldn’t be bothering with the American because this league has always had a different goal. I feel for Temple fans and truly hope they school at least tries to give you an athletic experience to actually be proud of and enjoy going forward. Because with any little effort, they’ve shown they can be successful before.
Good luck Owls.

Great post, thanks. Your thoughts reflect what many Temple fans and alumni feel as well. For what its worth, I have felt for some time that there is been a model to athletic success that Temple could emulate: the University of Cincinnati. See you on the basketball court.

On the whole it sounds like you and your son had a good time, and I am sure winning helps. For a warmer experience drive north on Broad Street and catch a basketball game at the Liacouras Center. As for attendance, it was only a few years ago that we were averaging just under 30,000. From TV it looked like 1/10th of that yesterday. We need to provide a reason for people to come to games; winning will do that, and I believe Coach Drayton will get us back to the top if the American. Best of luck moving on.

Has there been any movement for an OCS? At least students could walk to a game on campus.
That was the worst attended game I've ever seen on an national telecast in a non-Covid shut down. Not exaggerating. Brutal.
