His main point was how loud and quick that anti-Contingent is when they are silent or still negative during the many wins this program amasses. Both are real points.
I still choose to enjoy every game, even when losing because we know the talent and want is there from the current players. "Fu&% Candle!" after every play EVEN AFTER WIDE OPEN DROPS BY WR'S is just the flat wrong time to say that. We run 1st down plays which can get us 6 yards to the boundry and flat out drop it. Candle schemed that open. Candle schemed 4-4 on 4th downs. He deserves credit for that WITH demise of odd playcalls which fail from the jump...Our OC called a game where we outgained the opponent. 10 of 11 games that has been so! Flip it on the defense and special teams. Whenever we figure out penalties or something , another random trope bites us. Thats incredibly frustrating! But how the F does a coach deal with that?? Players forgetting one bad thing for another?
Ball security and bad punting/fg kicking has hurt us this season more than any season in recent memory. Those guys need to step up. If you cant rely on kickers in every big game to nail 38 yarders, or INTS on your own side of the field... I fail to see how thats the coaches problem. But i see the playcalling woes or anomolys and lack of OLine improvement (although they looked good a meer 2 weeks ago)... is something that needs attention come this off season.
The worse coaching thing Candle did was not burn the red flag on BGs fumble on the 2nd to last BG offensive play. We win if that happens. Frustrating, frustrating. Thats MACtion.
I fail to see how thats the coaches problem.
Then why have coaches at all?
There's so much illogic in that thought process, it's just a debate as to why we even have coaches. If there's thought that coaches do not matter, then there's no reason to be paying this one what he's paid. Any other will do just as well.
Of COURSE on field mistakes are on the coaches. That's where the buck stops. The coaches are the ones that are supposed to teach and train players so those brain farts do not happen. The coaches are the ones that are supposed to have the teams ready to get on the field.
Does Loeffler not get credit for BG's win? Then of course Candle gets the credit for the mistakes and the loss and it is reasonable that under a different coach, those players are better trained and better prepared and do not make these repeated mistakes. Of course, a different coach could do worse. Would Corey then say, it wasn't that coach's fault?
His thoughts strike me as being more from loyalty. Maybe he has responses to the questions I pose about responsibility that would support his statement better, but he's not here, is he?
Even winning coaches get the boot, if they are not winning enough and in the right way and against the right teams.
Candle is not winning against even the better MAC programs. Its not even close to .500. He's paid to do that. Calls for him to improve or go have a legitimate base of reason. Calls for him to simply go after as long as he's failed to show ability to adjust, have a legitimate base of reason.
