Nice start...
to go up 10. But the ETSU goes on a 14-0 run. We've regrouped and are now up 1 at the under 8 time-out. Hopefully we'll hang around until the end of this one.

RE: Nice start...
We turned the ball over too much at the end of the half but those 2 3-pointers at the end have kept us in it. There are signs of improvement thus far. Not fully together yet but we are certainly still in the game.

Now officially a blowout. The one thing I didn’t want to see.

Speaker does look like he will be a player.

On the other hand, Jordan Jefferson looks out of sync.

I take that back. He is now looking like the Jordan Jefferson I remember from the end of last season.

Great effort tonight. I say keep playing these young guys in the lineup - Jefferson, Speaker and Walker. They're keeping us in ball games and making it competitive. The discipline needs to grow though. If we just had a few less turnovers or even less fouls, this game could've easily been a W. We have the potential to grow better over the course of the season, so its now on the coaches to make that happen.

Lose by 8. Not a bad effort. ETSU is comparable to most OVC teams. Maybe we can eek out a couple of road wins and win the majority of our home games. Jefferson woke up and Walker and Speaker have a lot of upside. Gordon needs to avoid foul trouble so he can stay in the game. Not really “down” about this game since I didn’t expect a win.

I never expect a win with the current situation. I am pleasantly surprised when we keep the game close. The problem is that moral victories do nothing for the program.

I do expect us to "grow" as the season progresses, but that is on the coaches. While we will get better, other teams don't stay stagnant either. So how it all pans out, I don't have a clue. Maybe 6th place, as picked by the coaches, is reasonable. Blue Ribbon magazine picked us 4th. I would take that in a minute at this point in time. Like you, I think our young guys have some talent. Although somewhat lacking in size, I also think our "bigs", Gordon and John, are pretty good players. Seems like we have the pieces to be a pretty decent OVC team- we just have to put them together.
