You can go to the roster at emueagles.com and see a small number '1', '2', '3', or '4' next to the player's name.

1 = 2022 is his last year.

2 = 2022 + one more year.

etc.

Go here and look at the individual players. Across the top you'll see their position/height/weight/"mystery number."

That "mystery number" is the number of seasons they had left at the beginning of this season. So if it's 1, they are done after this year. Anything above that means they have at least one other season left.

Thanks guys. I'm with Luckey that figuring out eligibility was a major issue. I'm very curious to see the group we have coming back next year.

Ramirez has a 2. That means he can play next year. Since he's going to the shrine game I assume that means he's going pro after this season.

RE: Question about the seniors/non seniors
This has been somewhat confusing to me as well. On the Eastern press release for the CMU game it states:

"The game will serve as Eastern's Senior Day, where the program will honor the 2022 Senior Class. Brandon Benson, Hassan Beydoun, Blake Bogan, Jordan Crawford, Dylan Drummond, Michael Foor, Gunnar Oakes, Taylor Powell, Jose Ramirez, Sidy Sow, Tariq Speights, Grant Trueman, Russell Vaden, and Jalen Weathers will take part in the festivities with their families."

I would assume that means the guys not listed are planning to come back. One thing that stood out to me is that Sparacio is not listed. I know Kline has another year but I thought Joe was a one and done. He graduated high school in 2018 and it looks like he didn't play that fall at BC, meaning a probable redshirt. His career break down is:

2018: True freshman
2019: RS freshman
2020: RS sophomore
2021: RS sophomore redo
2022: RS junior
2023: RS senior

So it does appear he'll be back next year, which is great! It also means that Sow is the only O-lineman that will be gone, which is obviously a huge loss but nice to have most of those guys back.

EDIT: I looked it up and Sparacio played in three games at BC as a true freshman, meaning he would have been eligible for a redshirt.

I have been on record that next year will be our best chance for CC and the Eagles to break thru the 6-6 / 7-5 record and win the MAC. Why? This season we had too many RS freshman starting on the D-Line (Price / Swindle / Evans to win it this year but bodes well for next season. I also assumed that Ramirez would be back along with the LBs to give us a top 3-4 conference front seven. Ramirez not returning would be a huge void.

My cup is half full.

Defense loses some key starters but will be strong, esp. if Ramirez returns.

The offense loses a lot (!) of starters. I mean a lot. Say 7 or 8 depending how one counts!!

We lose most of the OL and WRs + Powell. Howie is the only OL starter returning.

RE: Question about the seniors/non seniors
Remember that Mikey Haney will return next year. He was a projected starter at DE that missed this year due to injury.

In terms if the defense (specifically Ramirez) so yes that is a big loss but that is where recruiting and coaching comes in. We have had quite a few big recruits at the DE position recently (Evans, Gaines, Bogard, Coleman), and have Haney coming back. It's time for one or two of those guys to step up and become an impact player.

I think you are overstating the loses on offense, at least according to the EMU press release. It appears Sow will be the only loss on the O-line meaning Howie, Bates, Dooley, Johnson will all be back along with Douglas and Rewolinski who both got playing time this year. Oakes will be gone at TE, but Getzinger, Paaske, and Jackson are back. Drummond and Beydoun are out but Knue and Lassiter are back. The whole backfield with Smith and Evans/Jackson are back.

So that is seven starters back just on the offense.

Warnsman has impressed in practice and although he's not had playtime this year, has a good shot at hitting the two-deeps next year.

I thought Bates was gone too, that's why I was surprised not to see him listed on the senior day list. I looked at his bio on the website and it says he played at a community in 2017 and 2018 then transferred here. So he comes here in 2019 with two years left meaning 2019 and 2021 (since 2020 didn't count). However, he only played in three games in 2019, does that mean he could have taken a redshirt that year? If so, that would mean neither 2019 or 2020 counted towards his eligibility and he would be using his two years 2021 and 2022. It would have played out like this:

2017: Freshman
2018: Sophomore
2019: Junior (took a RS)
2020: RS Junior (doesn't count)
2021: RS Junior
2022: RS Senior

So it certainly seems like he would be out of eligibility.

I'm pretty sure it's Bates and Sow who will be gone from the o-line next year. Johnson, Howie, and Dooley returning. Rewolinski and Douglas will be back and each have had some play time this year. Warnsman has impressed in practice and although he's not had playtime this year, has a good shot at hitting the two-deeps next year.

I expect we will add some JUCOs to the OL as well.

Yep and Alex Merritt who was out much of the year. We also redshirted a JUCO DT Jaavon Brown. That being said we need some impact DE who can rush the quarterback. We have a great group of incoming frosh at the DL-can someone like Blair play right away? We need an immediate impact LB to pair with Cline.

I think we are getting good, talented players on the DL.

I like Blair but he isn't like the DE at Cass Tech, Jalen Thompson, (MSU) who should play early.

I'm not even sure what position he will play (I have seen him play 2 games on Chad Bush's streaming platform). I assume Blair in a few years project ala Crosby, that long, lanky rush DE. BUT does anyone have the motor of Maxx????

Once the last regular season game is history, maybe we re-visit the depth charts and see what we have and need.

RE: Question about the seniors/non seniors
lets not forget this team is going to lose guys as grad transfers after the season - so some of our upperclassmen depth is going to walk out the door without warning (to us).
