CJ Hester
Wyoming star running back turned a close game at intermission into a track meet with 372 rushing yards on 27 attempts with five touchdowns.

"C.J.’s a great football player, great kid, great teammate, great captain. He just does whatever he has to do to help his team be successful. Big players make plays in big games. This was a big game and he stepped up big time," Wyoming head coach Aaron Hancock said after the game.:

Hester, a Western Michigan verbal commit, entered Saturday night with 2,830 yards rushing. He has 46 rushing touchdowns this season which is tied for sixth on the Ohio High School Athletic Association's single-season rushing touchdowns list.

Since Sean Tyler is leaving, it wouldn't shock me if Hester comes right in and takes the job. HE IS REALLY GOOD!!!

I had no idea this was Tyler's last season until that Senior Day thread. The Covid year certainly made things murky.

Yeah, our RB stable suddenly becomes vulnerable after this season. I'm not sure Abdus-Salaam is the answer, so Lester can definitely sell immediate PT to an incoming freshman.

Is that confirmed? In the presser, Lester said that there were 3 or 4 of those on the Senior list that might not be done yet, but he errs on letting them have the experience. Without doing the math, could Tyler be one of those? I don't think he has had the type of year to jump to post college FB. Aside from the portal, if he has eligibility remaining and is content here, sticking around might not be bad for him stock wise.

I would imagine Tyler will explore the portal if he wants to play another year. The offensive game plan and Oline at WMU will probably stink again next year.

I think Hailey and Hester are going to handle the load. Abdus-Saleem has had his chances and has not produced.

Wyoming running back CJ Hester leads the Cowboys by example. The senior running back has nearly 3,000 yards rushing and 46 touchdowns for the undefeated Cowboys.

Both Sean Tyler and Braden Fiske will have another year of eligibility left, but maybe they will be moving on? That will be rough, I had assumed we would have both of these All-Conference players back for one more year.

Getting off the sinking ship while they can

Transferring to Minny so they can go 3-6 in the B1G.

Maybe you guys should stop obsessing over Papi P and worry about why WMU's best players keep leaving with eligibility left

RE: CJ Hester
"Winning with your brothers feels good," Hester said. "When I got to the sidelines (after the injury), I had to get back out there because my team needed me."

Hester eclipsed 3,000 yards rushing for the season and 7,000
for his career. The Western Michigan commit is the first Greater Cincinnati player to run for 3,000 yards in a season since Williamsburg's Jason Bainum, who did it in 2000 (3,043) and 2001 (3,386). Hester sits eighth all-time in single-season rushing yards (3,061).

That's awesome! C'mon...if you were a running back that knew your HC was responsible for coaching TWO Heisman Trophy runner-ups that are both in the NFL, you might want to be where he is.
