Maybe not, but halfway there. Watching the Bobcats absolutely dismantle BG right now. Their D is playing VERY tough, and their back-up QB is gonna give Toledo fits with his option/running ability.

Not getting any warm fuzzies about this matchup in Detroit.

Our loses were due to defensive collapses. Watching Ohio shut down bg, makes wonder how good Toledo is.

Not sure I would buy that. When you have an OL that can't block, it puts the offense and defense in too many bad situations.

How many times did the DBs get beat? That part wasn't the OL.

Was the O unable to sustain drives, therefore tiring out the defense as the game wore on? Anyway, it all comes down to Candle being incompetent.

RE: Injury update?
BG started out looking like they were going to smoke Ohio. Went up 7-0 and the defense forced Ohio into 2 or 3 three and outs before getting their 1st first down (try typing that and have it makes sense). Then Ohio scored a TD. Then an intercepton. And another. And soon BG looks like they have no confidence left at halftime down 28-7. I didn't make it to the end of the game, falling asleep when it was something like 35-7 in the 3rd Qtr.

What surprised me was the Ohio defense. Statistically, they had one of the worst defenses in the MAC. You couldn't tell that by the way they played last night. McDonald made some bad throws, but Ohio had their receivers covered all night, while the D-line was consistently putting pressure on McDonald. The linebackers played under control - almost like they knew the play ahead of the snap. Must be good at studying film and identifying tendencies in various sets. And they will have 10 days to prepare for Toledo.

So we show as the filling of a $^it sandwich that is BG's 40-6 drubbing by Kent State before us and the 38-14 beat down ( I had to look it up) by Ohio (using their 2nd string QB like we did) after us... Not good.

Injury update?

Both the Football and Men's Basketball teams wilt every time there are high expectations. It's gotten old.

I heard UT has sold less than 1000 tix to the MACC in Detroit and the alumni association event turnout is less than spectacular. Apathy is deep this season. Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Yeah, I get the impression it won’t be close up in Detroit.

RE: Injury update?
So back to the topic. Anyone know any updates on injuries. Will Finn play? Weather looks like it could be decent around game time and warming up throughout - but still calls for a mix of rain and snow. Broken left hand is likely not a big deal for Gleason. Not much you can do for it other than let it heal. Broke a bones in my left hand - above the middle finger - wrestling in HS. Didn't wrestle for a week, then just taped it up between the 2 fingers on each side of it and got back to it. If Finn still isn't ready to go, I have to believe Gleason will not pass up the chance to play again with a broken left hand (depending on how many bones and where) since he finished the second half of a game with it nearly 10 days prior.

Hook - possible, but not likely. I think he would be playing if it were for the championship. Expect he will be ready for MACC. By now, Blankumsee should be fully recovered.. Seems to be in the Candle dog house. Only guy I have seen Candle yelling at in any game at any time. He has not been playing that much in the games since his injury. I don't know of any other injuries - but must have lost someone on the O-line because Ateman played a lot against BG. He has started off and on, but I don't believe he started against BG. He was playing in place of Mitch Berg at left tackle.

I don't remember Wolliver or Butler being in the game vs. BG. Just looked at the game stats and neither Butler nor Wolliver show for any tackles or assists vs. BG. Trying to find minutes played by each team. No luck so far. If they are still out, hope they are back for the MACC. We need the depth and they both have good size with Wolliver getting pressure on the QB fairly often when he is in the line-up in a passing situation.

RE: Injury update?
Just looked it up and Butler has not played since NIU game. Looks like Wolliver may have played against BG - but had no stats recorded . He did play against Ball State, so no apparent injury with him that is carrying over.

Givhan is back. Poynter also played against BG

Depending on what site you look at for weather forecast it can be anywhere from 45 to 49, with wind gusts up to 16mph, 0% chance of rain or snow or rain mixed with snow. Mostly cloudy seems to be a constant. The 30 degree low is at night on the 25th, so not an issue.

Yikes. If we lose to WMU, I probably won’t make the commitment to head up to Detroit just to see us get curb stomped by a hungry OU. Never could’ve imagined this amount of apathy towards a “championship” program, but alas we play in the MAC so it didn’t take much to get there.

I don't see the apathy as function of playing in MAC but more so the continued failing to meet expectations and decline in play late in season over the last four seasons has people less excited about this team and season

RE: Injury update?
Any one know who has been taking QB snaps first team this week for UT ? NIU, for example have gone through 4 QB's (Lombardi been hurt) this year and their record speaks for itself.

Just wondering, where did you hear that? And if the alumni event presale is low, it's probably because it costs $40 for a breakfast!
