Quote:ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech has lost two quarterbacks for the rest of the season with former starter Jeff Sims nursing a foot injury and No. 1 backup Zach Pyron out with a broken collarbone, interim coach Brent Key said Tuesday.

Sims, the team's starter since 2020, will spend the rest of the season in treatment and will not be a part of team activities, Key said.

Sims dressed the past three weeks and was listed as available on an emergency basis but he didn't take a snap when Pyron was injured and had to leave last week's 35-14 home loss to Miami in the fourth quarter. Sims initially injured his foot in a loss Oct. 20 to Virginia.

JFC. Stuck with the Akron QB for the balance with literally nothing else but somebody who is somehow even worse from Clemson.

They'll lose their last two games (@UNC, @U[sic]GA) by roughly 100 points. It will be a real close run thing as to whether they break the Collins 100-0 record he ended last season with playing ND and U[sic]GA.

What are the odds that GT accidentally scores points?

I'll take the under 100 points bet.

UNC and UGA will rest the starters more than ND and UGA did last year.

Or maybe... somehow... GT scores (gasp!)

I am pretty sure they will score at least 21 points against Carolina.

I had to look at the date/time this was posted to see if you were prescient or just having fun with us. Nice call. FWIW, I took the points in the Pickem. Tech fans are way too negative about their team. I wonder if that affects their play?

A bunch of Louisville fans feel the same way about our team. We’re 7-4, won 5 of the last 6. We’re playing complimentary football for the first time in 5 or 6 years and some aren’t satisfied.

Louisville could finish 9-4 with a win over UK and a bowl victory yet some are still unhappy with Satterfield.

I just shake my head

What did Satterfield do wrong (besides not being Jeff Brohm) to piss these fans off?

He engaged in talks with South Carolina ... and didn't handle the fall out well, awkwardly handling the revelation he was talking to them.

Which to me says this whole South Carolina thing was more Jimmy Sexton than Satterfield.

But we have a BUNCH of jack ass fans.

Yea our fan base is a fragile one to say the least. Everyone is always waiting for the person to scream fire so we can jump ship etc. I don’t think Satterfield had a chance at South Carolina, but do think his agent was using it as a ploy for an extension and raise. Hell I don’t know Satterfield, but I do think he is a loyal man with values, and don’t think he is the type to take a job and run at first opportunity. Everyone when I say this didn’t like the AD ( Vince Tyra ) who hired him ( also failed miserable trying hire JB ) would like to replace him with every loss he obtains with Jeff Brohm like he’s the effing savior to the program.

Satt is a good coach who just happened to follow a bad regime with Bobby Petrino his second stint here. BP only cared about winning and looking good doing it offensively. Our depth chart was terrible when Satt arrived the recruiting wasn’t all that great and so on. Then we have had all this BS from Covid that has affected everyone regardless how they feel about it, but again our fan base thinks we should have been better, but wants to count that as his fault to. The bottom line when we are rolling we have one of the loudest fan base in the country, and when we are not we looking for or listening for the person start swinging the axe or cry fire whichever.

I like Satterfield. He’s doing what we haven’t had a coach do since Howard was in Louisville, building a strong foundation.

Like Pervis and Owensboro pointed out. He or his agent flirted with South Carolina and rightly or wrongly it pissed off a good portion of Louisville fans. I can understand wanting to get closer to home when his Dad was ill.

Scott’s personality is the polar opposite of Petrino. Where Bobby was always pissed, Satterfield seldom shows emotion. Louisville football fans know the heights Petrino took the program to take Scott’s laid back attitude as him not caring.

Satterfield’s also had the unfortunate luck of losing to Kentucky during some of the best football that program has ever played. If he had beaten Kentucky 2 of 3 the fans might not be as mad.

This season has gone a long way toward getting the fans back on his side. To go from a 2-3 start to a 5-1 stretch going into the UK game has changed the narrative. There were rumors here locally that if he lost to Virginia he would be fired. I believe even ESPN reported it.

Most here still can’t believe the turn around against the schedule they’ve played. 9 teams on Louisville’s schedule were ranked at some point during the season. Just a strange football season in Louisville
