Michigan voter turnout rankings by county
MLive had a nice story about the counties with the best and worst voter turnout.

https://www.mlive.com/politics/2022/11/t...-blue.html

#1 was Leelanau County, home to Traverse City. Worst was Berrien County. I was surprised to see Berrien County rank dead last in voter turnout. Anybody have any thoughts as to why?

I don't know too much about Berrien County. Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. That whole stretch of Michiana had the worst voter turnout, with Wayne County ranking just above it.

RE: Michigan voter turnout rankings by county
My only thought about Berrien County would be that Benton Harbor is the poorest city in Michigan, which may have affected voter turnout there.

I believe the article also counts turnout by raw numbers compared to previous years, and not a percentage of eligible voters, which may explain it. Berrien County's population has been in decline for years.

It does. Berrien and Wayne and Ingham counties were the only counties with fewer voters than in 2018.
