We are damn lucky…
…that we played LIU & UMass this season! Replace those 2 with anyone who has a pulse & we’d now be fighting just to be Bowl eligible.

For all the weaknesses on offense (short of 2 QBs who somehow find ways to make plays) and special teams (an adventure all season, and not the fun kind), it’s the D that some crowned “the best in the MAC” that has just collapsed:

* destroyed by Buckeyes (no shame in losing, but c’mon, couldn’t we have played D like we had 11 guys on the field?)

* gave up long game-losing drive to San Diego State

* laid down in a corner for the entire 4th quarter at Buffalo, losing a double-digit lead

* got torched by BG, capping it off by inexplicably giving up a TD on a pass play when we only rushed 3 guys, had 8 back, missed 3 tackles and even had 4 Rockets SURROUNDING the Falcon receiver and still couldn’t bring him down

4 losses (so far). Common denominator, even with poor offensive execution and undependable special teams? Poor D play.

Don’t tell me this D has improved; they build stats against bottom-feeders & then disappear when playing anyone with a pulse. Shouldn’t have read your press clippings, guys—you aren’t that good.

D has been a complete disappointment. As you said, masked by terrible opponents. Offense has contributed as well with tons of turnovers. Many due to pressure caused as a result of not having an offensive line.

Poor OL play. Special teams-not good.Defense not good. Staff- responsible for the hot garbage. OL has been an issue
for 5 years now. Killing the existing fanbase, failing to grab the City, and I'll guess money will take a hit. All in a Conference that would have problems competing with top FCS teams.AD Blair- H-E-L-P!!!

It’s a challenging environment, but they have to do better than this. Quality of college football across the board is bad — worse than 5/10 years ago. There will be games on with two teams ranked between 20-25 and both teams look awful. It trickles down.

I’d have to say that Clucky is the worst kicker in the mac. Can’t count on him for anything. Defense has repeatedly dropped the ball when they needed to step up. Our receivers also drop the ball, literally! O line mostly stinks. What have I missed???

Luck has nothing to do responding to the first thread on this post. Hard to get power 5 or I supposed some of your better mid midge's to come into the Glass bowl. O'Brien had a knack on bringing in some of these teams in, up in the air what this new AD can do, or if he has the connections.

Clucky the least of our problems.. we need a punter, JC should have corrected that weeks ago so many almost blocked, he takes way too much time. Special teams in general under perform

RE: We are damn lucky…
2-3 in one score games is progress??? 03-lmfao Last year we lost all of em.

Cant believe the defense was the side who let us down. We had way less penalties than BG. 2 turnovers for short field scores and missed tackles on big plays.

4-4 on 4th down is a nice stat, but we shouldnt have that many near mid field where we HAVE to convert. The team doesnt give up? Thats good I guess.

Having BG in a rematch is exactly what this team and rivalry as a whole needs. Ranked the 5th most hated rivalry by an independent study with hundreds of responses... I believe it. Unlike most UT fans around me, I had faith that we were fine down 14. It ended up being the best modern I75 game. Shook hands with friends and family of the Orange and Brown team after. Im okay with Loefler staying their coach forever. He was bailed out hitting on low percentage plays which wont keep BG above .500 most years. We are hobbled and as low as we can get. Give it up for Gleason playing with a broken hand for 3 qtrs. Thats gutsy.

Ill be excited for the mbb and wbb games too, with the renewed sense of WANT by the TDS.
