ODU won impressively. However, near the end of the game, a William & Mary player landed hard, hard on the court. It took way too long for a stretcher to be brought onto the court and the young lady stabilized and removed from the arena. Seems that emergency medical personnel would have been at the arena, near the court. Instead, the trainers from both teams attended, then called for a nurse (maybe?) who called for the stretcher. It seemed like a very long time for proper care to come to the player. Sure hope the player is not seriously injured. If anyone has a later update on the player, please post it.

Yes, that was scary. Please join me in praying that she is going to be ok.

Regarding our play. This is a fun team to watch, and they love to run. Gonna be even more fun watching them grow into the team they are going to develop into.

There were some great defensive stops, sweet dimes to the post (especially that no look pass from Amari Young), I am so glad she decided to stay.

I am not even worried about the mistakes at this point in the season, coach will make sure they don't continue.

Ok, for the ugly: Free-throws - We shot 9 of 24 that's 37.5% (no excuse)
3pt shooting: We shot 4 of 19 that's 21.1% (it will be that way some games)

I'm excited about our Post Depth and size in the post, our super athletic guards, team chemistry (which will only get better), and b/c this is going to be a very, very good team (in time)

Watched most of it, but I can't help but wonder if it was just camera angles, but where are the butts in the seats? Official attendance listed just over 2,200, but ... that's clearly tickets sold, not butts in seats.

Is there a reason why Makayla Dickens didn’t play? I don’t think I saw her on the bench.

I have asked and have been told that it is ODU's "Official Policy" to report tickets sold as the attendance figure. I was asking about football but given the games I have been to for basketball this Fall it is pretty clear it also goes for basketball.

I've got no problem with tickets sold, that's a dollar in the coffer whether someone comes to see the game or not. I'm just wondering where the heck all those rabid Monarchs are. I realize winning draws people, and maybe I'm still spoiled by the full crowds at the Fieldhouse and The Ted (in its early years), but with the tradition the program has, there still shouldn't be that many empty seats IMO.

Attendance fell off a cliff with Barefoot. Lots of season ticket holders were lost. I believe sales were starting to rebound with McCray, but I wonder if COVID killed that momentum.

Like many of you I've been around long enough to remember days when the field house was rocking. Hopefully, we'll get back to that attendance level again at some point.
