It seems like the MAC has had excessive whistle blowing the past few years. Not sure if they feel they can call more because the game is not televised.
I would also think the crew was not a MAC crew (don't know that). I had never heard of any of the officals.
bald guy is John floyd. used to play at BGSU way back. He thinks people are still there to see him. Way too many whistles. IMO he is not a good ref. Went to a CSU exhibition game 2 weeks ago and he blew 75% of the whistles. Other guy Chris Beaver has been doing MAC games for years.
When you see these guys year after year thats a bad thing as they're not getting promoted.
For the UMPTENTH time and the UMPTENTH year .... THESE ARE NOT "MAC" OFFICIALS.
They belong to a consortium of officials that call games in multiple conferences, not just the MAC. The consortium includes the Big Ten, MAC and several other quality conferences that I currently can't name. No, the Horizon is not one of them and I don't believe the Summit is, either.
That's why you could see former official Bo Boroski at a B10 game one night and a MAC game another. He retired, even though he was a whipping boy for many fans, much like Ted Valentine.
The thing is, you always saw those guys on big TV games because the COACHES requested them. ... But I digress.
The best way to judge how good an official is, should be checking out how many 'MAJOR COLLEGE' games he does, not how many MAC games he does.
And if a guy is doing more Horizon/Summit games than MAC games, that should be a clue, too.
Also, these guys are independent contractors, so they can be in one or more consortiums.
