Amazing how good Powell looks when he’s “on”.
He’s looked much more comfortable today. Has shown the ability to get out of the pocket and hasn’t taken bad sacks. We especially needed that today with Smith going out. Life is good when Powell is on

You can really hear an unhappy KSU fan coming through pretty clearly on one of the crowd ambiance mics.

True. But let’s not jinx it.
Well, the offense prevented the jinx… thus one is over!!

Best half possibly ever in the Creighton Era! Outscored A MAC team on the road 24-0! We almost can't play any better! Offense, Defense, coaching!

Powell played great tonight! I knew their defense was bad, but he really took advantage of their awful secondary. The defense was obviously aided by their starting QB going down, but they really turned up the intensity in the second half. Kent State has a great running game and with their backup in that was obviously what they were going to go to and the D really did a great job of basically taking the run game away.

Great road MAC win. Both teams fighting through injury, but in the end our guys just wanted it more.
Hope Smith and Howie are back for next week.

A GREAT job by Creighton playing to the offense strength/their defenses weakness, and then staying aggressive. It's obviously with Powell in the game we should be a pass first team, and Kent State clearly could not cover our receivers. He went after them, and didn't pucker when it was time to win the game. When we were up seven and got the ball back with just under 10 minutes left it was the perfect time for a classic run, run, pass, punt Creighton drive. Instead he stayed aggressive and stuck with what worked while mixing Evans and Jackson in, and it resulted in clinching the win!

I hear ya, and I’m probably wrong, but this is the kind of game that makes me want to give Powell the rest of the season and then look at Austin again next year.

WMU takes down CMU in Mt Pleasant. And with CMU loss, both of those teams are bowl ineligible.

I love getting the younger guy some experience for next year but damn did Powell look good. CC has to stop trying to run that garbage RPO with Powell if Powell plays. It's elementary coaching.
I hope Austin is ok and if he can go, I'd give him the nod. I like Powell but he doesn't help us next year. We are bowl eligible and playing Austin now helps us for next season.

After the first half I thought we looked listless and here we go again a blow out. But this team and coaching staff showed E Tough meant something in the second half and roared back. It sometimes hard to believe our luck with walk ONS Mitch Jesus Tanner and Hassan. Great work on their part and our coaching staff.

That aged well, Super Jinx. Stick to women's basketball since they do so much "winning" as you say. NOT a fan.

Nah. Reward the man. This is the last football he will ever play in his friggin life. He has earned some loyalty for his hard work. This team would not be bowl eligible without his leadership and fine play in a bunch of games.

I noticed that too. Also the sideline report seemed to only have player pieces for the EMU guys. Talked about Bird, Jose, the wrench. Not much for Kent.....loved it.

Great post.
If there is one thing that is clear this season, you HAVE to have two competent, ready to play QBs and we did.

Any word on Austin? If he's not ready for CMU then I hope we see McCoy for a few snaps. Give the Chumps something to think about.
