He made an appearance in the exhibition game. I don't believe he's hurt. He appears to be buried deep on the bench at the moment.

Hmmm interesting. Defensive issues? Because he is a lights out shooter, something we were really lacking last year.

That seems to be the rumor of late.

I imagine he'll prove to be useful over the course of the season. We desperately need floor-stretchers out there to compliment the guys we have who can attack the paint. Van Der Heijden's shooting tonight is encouraging so far but you can never really have enough quality shooters.

Farrar's role could easily grow substantially by the time we hit conference play. It'll all depend on how he improves in practice over the next several weeks.

Former NCSU players transferring in hasn't worked out so far....

That seems to be the rumor of late.

I imagine he'll prove to be useful over the course of the season. We desperately need floor-stretchers out there to pair with the guys we have who can attack the paint. Van Der Heijden's shooting tonight is encouraging so far but you can never really have enough quality shooters.

Farrar's role could easily grow substantially by the time we hit conference play. It'll all depend on how he improves in practice over the next several weeks.

Farrar is really interesting. He only averaged 8 min a game at C of C in 28 games, but shot 42% from three.

I know Siddle recruited him to State, so he sees something in him.

Haws up by 45 with 12:00 left.

Still no Farrar sighting.

Hodge enters as the 12th Seahawk to play tonight.

Farrar enters after a couple more minutes of play. 13th guy on the depth chart, apparently. Yikes.

Looks like all of our starters will end up finishing with under 20 minutes of action. A very good decision.

Get ready for the trip to Norman, fellas.

McGriff somehow managed to foul out in just 13 minutes of action, lol.

I agree. A truly gifted shooter and passer of the rock too-looks great to me. Needs to keep embracing footwork on the defensive side of ball. This guy has a chance to really separate Hawks from most foes. We all saw The UNC run last year with their 4-man and you can see that with him. He has an elite 3-ball and is a great program fit. You can high post him if they zone or put Ross at high post then swing him and you suddenly have serious issues because you have great passsers that make good decisions on whether to finish or kick.

Against man, just keep doing what you are doing. Whether a weave or reversal or hand- off, keep spacing until it’s obvious that the ball is going up.

Hawks may be good at some point soon.

Not much that can be taken from a game like this, but the one take I had is that Eric VanDH can flat out shoot. He's like a Jake Boggs carbon copy but better(Jake isn't even getting PT at USF btw). Our starting five is athletic but we really don't have a knock down three point shooter like VanDH in that group. Newby may get there but he isn't showing it yet. White and Harvey are shooting 33% from three. With our ability to get to the basket we're going to face some zone and three point shooting is going to be the difference in wins and losses.

Two things, what? I said the same thing about the D2 exhibition and you argued with me. And two, i hope you are right about Eric V, but his shot didn't look so great against a much bigger team on Monday. I'll wait to see how that plays out but i hope he can, we need him!

My discussion was about our lack of rebounding and we turned it around. VanDH has a great shot, it's obvious. No matter who we play, if he has his feet set waiting on the kickout he can be really good. And at 6'9" he'll be able to get his shot off.

All I'm saying is it wasn't pretty against UNC. He should be able too get it off in our league no issues I agree

It was his first real game for the Hawks' and it was against the number one team in the country in the Dean Dome. Kid grew up in the triangle so i'd guess he was a bit intimidated. And if you look at the stat sheet, nobody shot really well for UNCW. Newby was 1-6 from three, White 1-4 and VanDH 1-3. At Ole Miss he averaged 4 minutes per game in 15 games and only played a total of 59 minutes all last season.

He is now 5-9 from three at UNCW(55.6%) and has the best percentage on the team and nobody else is close, and they all took their shots against the same competition.

I may be off here but I thought that his parents also were very good players so that may explain how he has such excellent form on his shot. It’s very impressive looking.
