Kent State vs. Baldwin Wallace
The Golden Flashes take on Baldwin Wallace of the Ohio Athletic Conference this evening at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center. Tip off is scheduled for 5:00PM. Say, can someone tell me when next Wednesday's game tips? I've seen noon and I've seen 11AM.

Only comment from seeing them in person... Gillespie has extremely long arms.

Both are injured. The extent is unknown at this point.

I know I've said this before many times, but the number of injuries boggles my mind. Yes, I'm old (77) but I remember when injuries in basketball serious enough to cause a player to miss time were rare. Now it's getting to be like the NFL where there are daily listings as to who is out, who is probable, etc.

RE: Kent State vs. Baldwin Wallace
After Mondays game I was excited .
Last night not exactly an inspired effort.
We got out rebounded by a DIII team. That is stunning .
Yes , BW like most OAC teams stood around and shot 3’s all night .
That alone caused a lot of long rebounds.

We looked very bored all night.

Jacobs had dark sunglasses on all night.
So…. Besides being a very cool guy , maybe he has an eye injury??

RE: Kent State vs. Baldwin Wallace
Kent state will be just fine. In the modern electronic world kids have no attention span. With 30 games it’s hard to be on every night. Kent knows they’d win that game last night likely 50 times out of 50. Only 9 guys in uniform coming off a big win Monday only inevitable to have a blah game. Kent will be in the Mac mix if dancing in March.

BW good guards and average team in OAC but OAC one of top 3 d3 conferences in the country. So I don’t view last night as end of world. I’d guess rob was hoping to get more guys minutes but with injuries and redshirts that couldn’t happen

RE: Kent State vs. Baldwin Wallace
I wouldn't get too worked up about BW out rebounding us by 2. They has 21 turnovers vs 9 for us. So that means there were 12 more defensive possessions for them that ended in a shot than when we were on defense. For that reason I didn't think it felt like they were beating us on the boards.

I'll also add probably our two best rebounders were out. Last year Jacobs was our leading rebounder and Hornbeak was out leading rebounder per 40 minutes. If those two miss significant time then I'll be panicking about rebounding (because I don't see many other guys that are plus rebounders) but if those two get back soon I think we'll be at least adequate on the glass.

I agree that it was a pretty uninspired effort which is a little concerning though.

I got the idea from an athletic department source that both Hornbeak and Jacobs could have played if the game had meant anything.

I have a pretty good source that told me the extent of the injuries were unknown (as of last night).
