We did actually line up on a 4th down but got a penalty. Now, I'm not sure what the intent was. Possibly trying to draw WMU offsides, which they did, but we jumped slightly first.

So, it was a voided play but we did line up for one.

That he goes for it on 4th isn't the issue. It's the conversion rate. We aren't in the top half in attempts in the MAC. We are however last in conversion percentage.

Bigger 4th down issue is on the other side of the ball. 4th most attempts against. Most conversions allowed. Last in conversion rate. Last in conversion rate on 3rd down too.
