Worth noting that the Wednesday night game on ESPN2 has Bert Emanuel Jr. getting some playing time for Central Michigan. I don't think he's the starting QB, but they're clearly working him in. Not great passing, but effective at times. And definitely capable of scrambling.

He should have had a TD pass, but it was ruled down inside the one and wasn't overturned on review, despite appearing to be clearly not down on TV replays.

EDIT: And now Bert just went off on an 87-yard TD run, rolling off a tackler and then outrunning everyone. He apparently had a 75-yard TD run right after halftime, which was right before I started watching.

A star is born. Good for him.

He ends up with 293 yards rushing and 3 TDs, and leads CMU to a big come-from-behind 31-27 win (over a decent Buffalo squad).

Bert rushed for about 300 yds. Rice were idiots not recruiting him.

Wonder if Venables makes it through the season before getting fired by OU. They cannot afford another John Blake as they get ready to enter the SEC.

Maybe if Rice gets a new coach Emanuel can transfer in
