But, if you want something positive to hold onto, some site called Hoop Power Analytics just posted their 1st Women's Tourney Sim. They have UT as a 12 seed. who beats Tennessee in the 1st round and James Madison in the 2nd to reach the sweet 16, where they lose to Indiana.
One can dream.

Being reported by Sidelines-EMU, that EMU is going to renew Castro's contract for 1 more year.
Strange way to run a program.

I see that Buffalo is advertising for an assistant coach, so one of this year's must be leaving although they are all still listed on the website.
By my count Buffalo is losing ~80% of this year's production to graduation, and now will have to work in a new assistant too. They have 7 incoming freshman and a JUCO transfer for next year. and they should get back the transfer from last year, Chelia Watson who was not cleared to play immediately by the NCAA. So, it will be an entirely new team again this year.

Today Buffalo announced they are hiring James Ewing as an assistant coach for WBB. You may remember that name, if you have a deep knowledge of Toledo MBB, as Ewing is a former Toledo Rocket, playing on the 2012 & 2013 teams, before transferring to Mercyhurst. This tidbit in the UB press release gave me a bit of a chuckle:
Quote:Ewing spent two seasons at Toledo (2011-13) where he was a two-year letterman and helped lead the Rockets to a Mid-American Conference West Division Championship in 201
Technically true I suppose, although he played a total of 31 minutes in 2012-13, and scored 2 points.

One other tidbit on UB WBB, is that they had no players named to the Academic All-MAC team this year. Can't remember when a school didn't have at least 1 or 2 players make that list. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, I just found it curious.

You work hard in practice and make other players better, you helped.

True, but "helped lead" is maybe a bit more of a stretch.

To be considered for the Academic All-MAC Team, a player has to have been at their current school for at least a year. Freshmen & graduate transfers are not eligible. If I'm not mistaken, only one of Buffalo's 2022-23 players was on the team in '21-22, & she must not have had a high enough GPA to qualify.

Ahh, didn't realize that. That's likely the reason then.
