Carpenter will have a career high rushing and passing game Saturday.

If we don’t play both QBs (Carpenter and Guest, I mean) I don’t see us winning another game.

Line dropped to -5.5. I saw it was -8 this morning.

I really like these new teams, they don't hate Coastal ... yet.

I think we will run both. Give Carpenter the first few series and see how he does and bring in Guest as needed. Carpenter can throw short passes, he was Mr Football in Florida after all. He just doesn't seem to run our offense very smoothly - but I think has done better with the package designed for him. Guest hasn't really had a lot of opportunity but could have a bit of a breakout this game. In the flashes I've seen of him he seems to be very similar to McCall.

One year e went through quite a few QBs. We had to play a graduate assistant who was a Coastal baseball player and hadn't played football since high school.

I'm thinking they come out pissed off from being embarrassed last week. They are only one game away from making a bowl and last week was not a good outing. How USM responds this week this tell us whether Will Hall is just a good coach or if he's possibly a championship caliber coach.

We know something about being hated. At one time it was because we dominated C-USA. Then it was because we were constantly talking about our History while stinking it up on the field. Hopefully we can have you hating us for reason #1 soon :)

How far this team goes still comes down to defense. It's hard to overcome terrible defense. Doesn't matter who you have out there.

I had Coastal beating Southern Miss 31-20 with McCall healthy...

Now that he's out, I'll say Coastal beats Southern Miss 21-20 in a relatively low scoring game. I do think our defense will come out on fire...but I think Coastal edges out for the W. Can't wait. Here's to hoping something crazy happens like 9 OTs and it's on every ESPN outlet showing how fun the funbelt it.

Expecting a grind it out game. Will be a lot of ground game. Should be interesting if nothing else.

Wonder if McCall should have reentered the game last week.

Line is down to -4.5. That's a 7 point drop which is huge for a vegas line. But honestly, McCall may be worth more than 7 points. I think USM is in a good spot because I don't think they were exposed as much as they were embarrassed last week. My feeling is that they were high off the Louisiana win and layed an egg. I expect the USM D-Line to play like they have all year, and this game to come down to the wire. QB play from USM will need to be solid though, and that's what I'm not certain of.
