MAC has to step it up in basketball. Several lackluster non-conference performances last few years. Those net rankings don't lie. It was a terrible effort by the MAC non-conference last year as a group. Kent State the exception they played well last year. How the MAC uses this as motivation to win this challenge. Sun Belt and MAC are peer conferences. Both are FBS and one bid leagues in basketball. Both balanced. MAC needs its schools to take care of business at home especially the top of the conference. Coaches are paid a lot of money.

Yes, I agree. Other than a quality win at Michigan last year, CMU struggled.

For the reasons you listed I love the relationship the SBC has with the MAC. I hope this series is good and can go for more than just 2 years.

Been some interesting matchups this week, curious how this all ends up but it appears to be a good marriage amongst one-bid conferences to get quality opponents on the schedule (especially at home). Last nights JMU-Kent State was an instant classic.

I hate SunBelt. For all things holy -- I wish bad things upon the Sun Belt. Last night made me angry (although there was no D on both sides). But Saturday, we shall see what unfolds.
