ACU, GCU, SU, and CBU have “important” games on Monday. WAC can’t go 0-4 in those games.

I would agree, Abilene Christian, Stephen F. Austin, New Mexico State, Grand Canyon, Seattle U., and California Baptist need to set the WAC standard by winning their games tomorrow. And the Utah school... Southern Utah, Utah Tech, and Utah Valley could really boost the WAC's stature if they could get a road win against the MWC. If Tarleton State, Sam Houston State, UT Arlington, and/or UT Rio Grande Valley win(s) on Monday they would shock the world!

Southern Utah's game against New Mexico should a good litmus test for when New Mexico State plays New Mexico later this month. It will tell if NMSU is as far along in their development (this early in the season) as one of their WAC peers.

Hopefully we should win, but with a couple of key players possibly out we will have to rely on some of our new talent. ACU has a lot of new unknowns this season with such a fresh roster. Our key question is do we lose much momentum with the new roster? Here's to hoping the WAC makes a good showing!!

Unless the NCAA (and the University of Arizona) get their butts in gear and approves two Aggie player's waivers, it looks like NMSU will start the season without two of its best players... LSU transfer Xavier Pinson and Arizona transfer Kim Aiken Jr. It shouldn't be an issue against New Mexico Highlands, but if the process carries over to next Saturday, it could cost a game against UTEP on the road.

So do we know what the issue(s) is/are with each player? And yes we hope they are approved very soon.

With Pinson it's an academic eligibility issue transferring from LSU to NMSU. Not sure if it's a matter of number of transferable credit hours or GPA toward his field of study? What complicates (or simplifies) things is every player should have received a waiver to play another year due to COVID, a do-over year. So, Pinson should have one more year of eligibility.

With Kim Aiken Jr. it's a matter of paperwork coming out of Arizona. Aiken left school before the end of the semester at Arizona due to personal reasons and never returned. Since he played seven games last season, it's possible the NCAA might require him to sit out the first semester at NMSU.

Tarleton State @ Arizona State (PAC-12)
Sam Houston State @ Oklahoma (Big 12)
UT Arlington @ Oklahoma State (Big 12)
UT Rio Grande Valley @ Kansas State (Big 12)

I'm calling the Tarleton and UTRGV games as 50-50. Meaning if we score at least 50 and keep the margin under 50, we'll call it a moral victory.

Best chance for an upset is UTA. I think the WAC polls are underrating them again.

Right now I want to wait and see tonight, but know of a couple of possibilities.

Joe Pleasant appears to be one of your players of concern...

NMSU has received a waiver for Xavier Pinson. That is a huge pickup for the Aggies for the OOC schedule.
