Rockets didn't play great and started off uncharacteristically sloppy but really settled in and ran good offense and figured out their help defense to take control. Akron currently leading 39-38 with 15 minutes left in the second half.

BG with a nice win at Oakland, 87-82. Hit 10-18 3's in the 1st half and then hung on. Outrebounded them by about 15. At Wright St next and then at Notre Dame so we needed this one.

I know it's ridiculously early. But it seems like the MAC has come out of the gate a little better than the past few years.

really fun EMU-UM game in Detroit. exciting atmosphere with bates stepping up. farrakhan nearly unstoppable at times and some pretty good team offense by EMU who led most the 2nd half but foul trouble and hunter dickinson keep UM close and they rally late.

MAC with a solid Friday playing some tough games. UB with a pretty big home game tomorrow against a 2-0 James Madison team that should be solid. Ball St w their first D1 opponent at Indiana St.

While the quality of MAC football is probably not up to par this year, MAC basketball seems to be really good. If the league can get some statement victories outside the conference this year, there actually could be more than 1 MAC team in the NCAA tournament. EMU, Kent State, Akron & Toledo could get serious consideration if they are not the tournament champion. Too bad EMU did not beat Michigan as that is the type of game that will gather national attention. The Toledo victory over UAB is a good start toward some big conference wins.
