ECU and Memphis...wild guesses...Memphis to Birmingham vsMAYBE SEC opponent; ECU to Gasparilla vs MAYBE SEC/ACC

Certainly way better than G4 fans have to think about.

Odds are if we lose the CCG, we are headed to a bowl in our own state. Either Gasparilla or Cure. They tend to keep us in the state rather than sending us too far away.

Which is a travesty, because this conference bowl arrangements suck. The AAC championship game is basically all or nothing for a good bowl. The runner up essentially has to hope for either a 6-6 P5 team or potentially gets stuck with a group of 5 delight that nobody is gonna care about.

Honestly, I cannot wait to get a better bowl lineup in the Big 12. Aresco better stand on his head trying to improve the AAC bowl lineup next go around.

Forget about that - - Aresco is the one who got us into this situation.03-hissyfit03-banghead03-hissyfit03-banghead03-hissyfit

The only positive is that 7 of the 11 AAC 1.2 teams and 7 of the 14 AAC 2.0 teams will be playing in bowl games.Rimshot03-woohooRimshot03-woohooRimshot

It's not terrible in the middle ranks. 7-5 AAC playing 7-5 ACC in Fenway/Military, for instance, isn't a terrible matchup.

Memphis is likely headed to Independence or Frisco. That's the 2 bowl reps who were there on Saturday. My guess: Memphis to Shreveport, SMU to Frisco.

Wasn't Memphis away on Saturday?

Yes. They were at SMU. I think Independence was there for Memphis and Frisco for SMU. We'll see.

Thank you for posting thiss.

Basically those stomping their feet and crying on the annual "AAC Bowls are terrible!" tantrum are saying "AAC Bowls are not SEC-level!"

No ****, Sherlock.

Still P6 in the tweener "Closer to the autonomous five than the little four" sense.

Sure I wish they were better. Takes two to tango, though.

SBC lurker here 07-coffee3

Army was just denied their waiver so this confirms Independence Bowl will be AAC vs SBC. What I'm hearing is it will be some combo of SMU/Houston/Memphis vs Southern Miss/Louisiana.

Houston or Memphis if that’s the case. We are heading west.

True, obviously I want the Cotton Bowl first, but there is one 6-6 team that I wouldn't mind beating for a second year in a row.

There's talks of ECU playing Missouri in the Gasparilla Bowl. Mizzou didn't want to play Kansas in the bowl. I know there were some rumors of us playing UNT there, but Mizzou looks more likely.

ECU to Gasparilla

My prediction: If SMU has 11 people at the game like they did against Memphis, they'll end up in the toilet bowl.

Get some fans.

I loved cheering your team losing. With your coach, we are guaranteed a win so please keep him. Must suck being broke.

memphis has beat smu 7 of last 9 games in football

6th best bowl eligible. You all are such a thorn in the Pirate side Navy. We really need to even the score against you all.
