On the WSU website they say that this is an exhibition game for them. Can one team count it as an exhibition while the other counts it as an official game?

Does EMU pay WSU less for this game?

Yes D-II can treat D-I games as x-hibitions.

Yes, I remember being told that some lower division games in the recent past were treated as a real game by EMU but not by the lower division team.

As far as how this affects payment, I have no idea.

Steve, LCA is not until next Friday. You are way premature counting this as game week for that. Is this twice in a row you made the same mistake (football being the other one)

That's what happens when I link two games. We are now only 4 days from Wayne State.

Thanks for this info. I am picking up an extra 8 tickets for some family members to come. Great price, saved me a lot. My Nephew goes to Wayne St and his parents went to EMU like me.

I started this thread early because there was a long gap between the x-hibition game vs. GVSU and Wayne State. As I learned in a philosophy of science course, "Nature abhors a vacuum."

That said tonight is the WSU game. New cast of characters. Greer, Harralson, and Neely are gone. In comes Bryan Smothers, a WSU alum, and fmr. assistant at Niagara and UofM.

Tonight is WSU's first known game of 2022/23. Don't know any of the players. And WSU was 5 - 18 in 2021/2

I have no idea how to judge a 10, 20, 30, or 40 point win tonight. I'm sure a poster or two will not be happy with a 30+ point win, but such is life on forums...

Don't know how WSU will play the game. Teams always want to win, but yes this game is considered an exhibition game, as someone noted, D-II games before 11/11/2022 are exhibitions for the D-II team.

As always with these games, just get out of there with no injuries.

i bought tickets for the LCA game - ill be in the front row of the upper bowl with some friends

I'll also be at both tonight's game and LCA on Friday.
