Imagine the outrage if A&M was matched against a SBC team in a bowl!!
They can go 0-2 this year! What an honor.

Troy would easily handle A&M.
That said, A&M actually has to BE bowl eligible for this to be even a conversation, it's doable with who they have left but if they lose to either Florida or Auburn the next few weeks that probably isn't going to happen.

Even if A&M makes it to a bowl, there's no telling how many of their players would opt out of playing.

Sucks for their fans then because at the end of the day a win is a win in the record book...if this were to even come to pass. Like hotrod said, they might not make it to 6 wins..

Can we steal the Military Bowl or some Bowl with a P5 tie in please? These exhibitions against the MAC for the best G5 conference in College Football need to end. You'd never see this **** with the AAC. Time to ESPN to step up and invest in their investment.

That's a matchup that would bring fans.
Our fans for sure, Memphis fans never showed up for the Black & Blue game that I can recall. Maybe things have changed?
Memphis has fans?

So first off, after the past two seasons with no bowl, USM will be ecstatic to have a bowl to go to if we do make it to the 6 or 7 win range. Of the bowls mentioned, the Frisco would obviously the worst for us, since it's no where near our fans. Lending Tree (Mobile), New Orleans or Independence would be great locations for our fans to fill up the stands. My personal preference would be New Orleans for the indoor stadium :) Mobile would be next. We've had some fantastic games there in the past.

New Orleans Bowl is at 8pm on a Wednesday this year. I wish it was still on a Saturday.

I'm glad there is a bowl in New Orleans, but playing in a big indoor stadium at 15-25% capacity is not a good atmosphere.

They got caught up in Saints/holiday date problems. The 17th is on Saturday, but the Saints host the Failcons on the 18th so they won't do that turnaround. The next Saturday is Christmas Eve. So they split the difference and scheduled it on the Wednesday in between.

If Southern Miss is there, it'll be a lot more than 15-25%. They'll bring 25-30. that's almost half.

App didn't easily handle A&M, I don't think it would be easy for Troy. It would probably be a 6-3 type of game though.

Southern Miss, Texas State, and Louisiana are the obvious choices for the New Orleans Bowl. I think App, Coastal, Marshall, ODU, and JMU are the obvious picks for the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Cure Bowl would go to UGA - Atlanta and Statesboro.
Then I don't think we should have so many MAC aligned games. That's going to continue to drag down the Sun Belt perception. Keith Gill really needs to work hard to steal a P5 tie in from the AAC and hand off some of these MAC games to C-USA.

I'm not sure about that on a Wednesday night before Christmas, to be honest.

I've said this before, but those in bold need another bowl. Just having Myrtle Beach isn't enough. Raleigh and Norfolk should be the obvious candidates.
