Coach Prime

He does tick every box there, but I still believe the speculation that he'll try for Georgia Tech or Auburn. But I would gladly take him for a few 10+ win seasons before FSU starts calling him back.

Apparently, someone on Facebook said we have been in contact with him and his agent twice already.

I just don't see him coming here being in the realm of possibility. Yes, we can offer him more than JSU but he's not there for the money. What reason would he have for coming to UAB, knowing that bigger and better jobs can imminently be his if he wants them.

I agree. Prime has already leapfrogged us.

Tech is a tough place to win for anyone because of the academics. Auburn is just a snake pit. I really didn't have anyone in particular in mind when I posted that but Prime would flourish. If he's got his sights set on something else then we move on

The only reason he would come here is if he is spurned by P5s and he feels the only way there is through a G5.

...I wonder about Gary Patterson... not sure what the 'endgame' was for him at TCU, but he was a VERY solid coach who set the general foundation to what they are doing now... Tom Herman is another one... the 'Texas Connection' these coaches have may also be a good thing, as there are (at least) 4 AAC teams in Texas for 2023... 03-idea

Those two are near the top of my list.

Herman- there are a lot of Houston fans that wish he was still the HC. He has connections in Ohio as well as Texas.

Gary Patterson- He really supported UAB and the rivalry with TCU. He supported UAB during the return. He wanted the Auburn job and showed interest twice. He could be a great fit.

Honestly there are a number of quality young HC and coordinators that we could target. I think Mark is going to hit a home run

I think Sanders sees being at JSU as a mission to elevate HBCU football. I don't see him taking a G5 job or a mid level P5 like Georgia Tech.

+1 and I hope he's successful in that. ASU's head coach's statement that Prime "ain't SWAC" was just plain ignorant and divisive. Just because Prime had a P5 opportunity doesn't lessen his dedication.

Deion came from North Fort Myers, FL. He's only 4 years younger than me and I was living in Naples. Our high schools were in the same region at that time and he didn't come from one of the rich or privileged areas of SW Florida and had to fight for his goals just as hard as any SWAC athlete.

People are already throwing Matt Rhule’s name for the Auburn job as they are about to hire a new AD today.

We need to strike fast on some of these bigger name candidates.
