He'll need to surround himself with an experienced staff. Wonder if we're going cheaper on HC salary since I assume Dilfer has plenty of money and allocate more to the assistant pool?
I kind of laughed at the Carnell Lamar "Cadillac" Williams coaching suggestion but if this turns out to be true,
he probably was a candidate. Next few years will be interesting.

P.S. - The FB folk are not feeling it, y'all... I'm not treading over there...
I hate I got rid of my Facebook account and can't see that page anymore, I would LOVE to read their reactions.
...well, I lied, not only did I venture over there, but actually engaged with a few who were "renouncing their UAB support forevah..." To each their own, but I support UAB, warts and all (and Lord knows we have plenty of those)... no matter - EFEL!

...wise thoughts on both accounts. I only hit 'the Facebook' (as my dear old Ma calls it ) a time or two a day, BRIEFLY, primarily in this transition time - now that we appear to have resolution, I will go more or less 'dormant' (and yes, seriously pondering why I still even have an account...)

Credit to Ingram. He is putting it all on the line with this hire. Hopefully the plan is to provide him with the resources to put a good staff together. I can almost guarantee Dilfer will bring in some of the most talented players we've ever had at UAB. The question is can be coach/run a program. The mystery poster said it best, buckle up.

Also, I'm not sure where I stand on this issue as far as the majority is concerned, but I think we could use a facelift as far as our branding/ uniforms go. Would love to ditch UA for Nike with the contract expiring in 2023, think that little things like this go a long way with recruiting, as guys love "swag" these days!! Heck, why not go for a Jordan deal- if Howard University and Houston can strike a deal with Jordan, why can't we??

Maybe still thinking about Key until he was no longer available?
He plays Thursday night in the Tennessee state championship
Looks like the players are now posting quoting Ingram that they would be the first ones to know. I know it’s not an official offer yet, but it looks like a done deal.
But also we don’t know if Ingram told them the top 3 candidates.
What is the last day to enter the portal? Will we have enough players to field a team for the Bahamas Bowl?

IMO, someone needs to remind these players who foots the bill for their trip to the Bahamas. Without looking, I'm guessing we lose money going to the bowl. They went 6-6 while being "led" by the guy they want. Don't let the portal hit your rump on the way out.
Players should have a say, and their voices matter. That being said, it’s a very loud minority of players speaking out and they are acting in a way that shows no true commitment to UAB itself. Like someone stated earlier, the player that said he didn’t care if there were bigger or better names out there. I’m sorry, but if the goal isn’t to hire the best possible option or an option with potential upside then you aren’t running a good department. I hope people don’t leave, but I feel that Dilf can pull some guys out the portal like AK
I’m heading Lane Kiffin as OC and Kirby Smart as DC.
Joking aside, I’m super curious about the coordinators. Does he keep Reeves for some stability, continuity, and experience with several of the teams we will be playing? Or bring in all new? Could get weird

Yup. Our other options were probably BV, Skip, or Tyson Helton. Seems like Mark went for Possibly Great rather than Definitely Mediocre. He didn't just go outside the box, he blew that ****** up. No idea how Dilfer will work out but it won't be dull.
