Our bigs are seeing ghosts. They've refused to take wide open dunks / layups.

I just want to be able to justify re-upping season tix next year. Hosting the #2 team in the country on a weekend and my better judgement told me to sell instead of go. That sucks.

Houston has hit like ten nut punch long jumpers where uc defends well for 25 seconds and they just hit a contested 2 or 3 off the dribble. Credit to them.

Give them props. Houston is really fun to watch.

Was pleased with what I saw

Outrebounded them. Really defended well in the half court. They had 13 steals and 26 points off turnovers. That and jd/ ddj making nothing was the difference in the game.

We fought hard but weren't ready for they length and athleticism and were uncharacteristically sloppy with ball as a result.

Difference in the game was about 5-6 lazy passes that turned into layups and dunks the other way.

We are a serviceable starting 4 away from being able to compete against good teams at home at least. Mot getting much offensively and defensively from that position hurts.

Unfortunately, we just hosted the #2 team in the country and no one was interested enough to even start a game thread.

This is a fair assessment. I did think both our 4s competed on the d and on the glass today which helped. But they have us nothing on offense.

I disagree that UC played tough. No intensity or urgency until it was out of reach. The crowd was wack too.

Vik and Ody let Houston punk them. Lakhin fought back the last 7 or 8 minutes, but it was over by then. Skillings showed some heart at least.

The Houston guards got whatever they wanted. Their entire offense, really. Looked like they were in 3rd gear.

And they took UC out of their offense entiey. entity. No answer. He continued trying to run that ball screen out top, even though DDJ couldn't throw over their hedge and MAW couldn't dribble out of it. So many easy turnovers.

UC stayed in it for a little by throwing in some 3s. Nothing easy at all.

Houston is very good in all facets. They have a lot of guys at every positio , they are well coached, they are tough, they can shoot, etc., etc. UC was going to have to play really hard and really well to beat them. Wasn't close.

Poor Ody. It's in his head now. It's a shame because he is one of the few physical inside guys UC has.
These long stretches of little to no scoring need to get fixed.

It's been this way for two seasons now. Maybe it's time to accept reality?

How many times did Lahkin or Ody catch the ball under the basket, and instead of going up for the dunk/layup, they would wait for the defender and then miss the shot and not get fouled. Those plays made my blood boil. As offensively challenged as those guys are, they need to covert on those easy points.
