It's good news that there was growth last quarter and hopefully that continues. But to make a thread and suggest "No recession here" when A. There already was one this year with two negative quarters, and B. Everyone in the country feels the same about the economy (bipartisan agreement) because prices are higher, wages are stagnating, portfolios are cratering, and it's tougher to save money. Either there is zero critical thinking involved or just plain ignorance of actual economic conditions.

You just nailed Left Wing Tommy. He has absolutely no critical thinking skills.

And once again if I go by numbers and POs inflation is higher in October for me than the last three months. It’s not stopping or slowing down here in the REAL WORLD.

But yes, I fully expect us to actually fall into a recession sometime in 2023. Especially if the GOP retakes the house.

What exactly is the GOP going to do to cause us to "fall into a recession" (even though we all know we are already in one).

**** around with not raising the debt ceiling...cutting off money for Ukraine further destabilizing the world...and any number of things. The simply have no desire to govern.

What he doesn't know is once it was clear that R's would control most of Congress, the markets inflated again.

Yeah, that's how this all works. 01-wingedeagle

Psst...it was expected that the R's would take control of congress after the mid-terms for basically 2 years now.

The Senate is still a crapshoot, but the Dems were favored to hold it up until the last few weeks or so.

It absolutely wasn't clear at all in the House. Then when Roe was overturned (which was expected for months prior) about 5-6 different posters starting saying Roevember was coming.

Markets love divided government because it brings stability, instead of countless crazy spending bills with C.R.'s.

Well yea, and it was probably $1.78 under Trump.

But for places where the milk has to be transported, its north of $3.50 per gallon because the idiot in chief is incompetent.

Idiotic analysis of how things work, not surprising. You think WalMart has cows in the back room or something? 03-lmfao

Yes, purchase all the cheapo Great value brands and be fortunate you get to exist under the Democratic Authoritarian Regime.

Existing isn’t living Tommy.

You enjoy Walmart meat? Especially the beef that’s more pinkish than red. A big mover here except common folks don’t realize that is the retired dairy cows they are purchasing.

Make sure you purchase the cheap fuel at the no name C Stores so you can clog up your fuel system and pay $2000 to $4000 for a new fuel injection system.

Buying cheap stuff doesn’t come without unexpected consequences.

That’s just another blatant LIE from a well know LIAR. Borden Milk is far superior and there isn’t a person alive who can’t tell the difference unless they have lost their sense of taste.

There are also all Jersey Milk companies that would make you think Walmart milk was watered down.

You have serious mental issues when it comes to defending your heroes.

This is the advance estimate. It is put out in the first month after the quarter ends, and it's followed by a preliminary estimate a month after the advance estimate. Currently scheduled for release on November 30th. Then a third estimate is released a month after that which is currently scheduled for December 22nd.

But I'd like to see your link to the downward revision that's apparently already known.

No, it was pretty much crystal clear that it was going to the R's...before Roe. In recent history it has, I think, always changed parties the first mid-term of a new president if his party had the majority.

You said for two years though. RCP average had it as high as D+ 6.7 in the middle of 2021. It was not a forgone conclusion. Then inflation hit and gas spiked, then the mask came off.

Democrats had a 1 point lead in the Congressional ballot as late as September 24th. Roe definitely saw it tighten up, but it looks like the **** economy is the main driver this year.

Ideally you'll buy meat from a good quality butcher shop or directly from the farm if possible instead of buying from a supermarket. That said, some supermarkets have good butcher shops too.

Buying off brand is not exactly a guaranteed quality hit either. It depends on what you're buying and how much research you do before you buy.

And they did not determine it to be one.

But yes, I fully expect us to actually fall into a recession sometime in 2023. Especially if the GOP retakes the house.

a) No, I read that and ignored it... because all it does is reflect what the left has been accused of for years now... changing the accepted definitions of things to suit their political goals. As they mostly still control academia, it is not surprising that they also control academic definitions.

NEVER in our history has this been the case... where we have had two quarters of negative grownth and it NOT be called a recession.

Never.

b) Let me say that differently. NEVER BEFORE have we had to ASK the NBER if there was a recession... because the BLS presented the data and everyone knew... so this whole 'generally considered the arbiter' is a lie. A BOLD faced lie. I have multiple degrees in economics and took classes in the 80's. 90's and 2010s... and NEVER during that time was what is claimed by your article here been the case.

I'm going from memory, but I don't even recall one time in my lifetime where we've had more than two quarters in a row of negative growth. I remember two down, one up and then another down in 2008-2009 iirc... and again I think in the 70's or 80's?? and I could be wrong... but the manipulation here is very clear, Tom... and only a partisan hack or a fool wouldn't recognize it. Even what they write there... 'generally considered'... by whom Tom?? I've been involved in this for 40 years and never ONCE have heard it said.

EVERY SINGLE ONE of those was a recession (or even a depression, including I suspect, COVID).... but not this??

Honestly ridiculous... and your side loses all credibility (which for some of you wasn't much to begin with) by denying it.

and then to your last point...

Um... okay chief... lol.
