Makes sense. So far, turnovers are the only thing that have kept opponents in games with us.

The Yoder fumble was at the end of the first half.
William & Mary at 00:26
1st and 10 at W&M24 William & Mary drive start at 00:26.
1st and 10 at W&M24 Shotgun Yoder,Bronson rush middle for 17 yards gain to the W&M41 fumbled by Yoder,Bronson at W&M29 forced by Colbert,Jordan recovered by URI Carter II,Antonio at W&M41, End Of Play.

They trusted him enough to rush the ball 9 times in one series at the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th quarter. That was the last time he touched the ball. We only had two offensive series after that, and Yoder didn't have any carries. If he was on the field for any of that, I don't recall it. The benching him because he fumbled thesis doesn't make sense. I figured that after nine rushes in one series, he was either totally gassed or possibly dinged up.

I don't think that Riggo got benched because he fumbled the ball once!!

If Riggo's backup was Walter Payton he might have. My point is not to compare those two players, but to suggest that we're in a better position than most teams to play the hot hand, or bench the fumbling hands in this case. I'm also not commenting on whether he's hurt, etc, just specifically talking about how we've got a bunch of great backs and it wouldn't surprise me to find out that we were giving guys a break in a tight game if they fumbled once. You might ask if this was worth posting since the qualifiers are longer than the substance of the post, and I'd probably agree that it wasn't, but I already typed all this out and here we are.

All very good points. And for what it is worth, my one sentence response was so poorly written that a W&M English professor would have given me an F for lack of clarity. What I was really doing was referring to Yoder as Riggo because of his running style and was merely commenting that I did not think that Yoder (Riggo) was benched because of one first half fumble.

Remember, also, Imoh touched the ball only once in the entire 1st Half, then carried for pretty much the whole touchdown drive after Half Time. Could be just a formula that Christian likes to use.

My impression during the game was that Yoder didn't get the ball in the third quarter because of his fumble. But then I looked at the play-by-play and I saw that he had no other chances in that quarter between Imoh's TD drive and the late third quarter drive. That's because the two drives in between were a 1-play interception and a 1-play fumble on a QB keeper. So we just don't know whether Yoder would have been running during those drives.
