#2 behind Reggie Taylor for career yards (3,487)
#1 yards in a single season (1,361)
#1 in careers rushing TDs (39)
#4 TDs in a single season (15)
A case can also be made for Mike Warren. Nobody moved the chains consistently as the Truck. He didn't have the home run ability that Pead or Jerome Ford did, but if we needed a first down or the ball was on the goal line, he was going to lower hit hat and get the yardage needed.
I agree on McCleskey. I wonder if the year he sat out because of a "sexually assault charge", taints him. He was never convicted!

Ridder
Gardner
Bryant
I think Gilyard, Ridder and Gardner have to be in the Ring of Honor. Bryant would be a worth addition.
It's weird that Gilyard would be the only player from the 2009 team. I'd be good with Pike/Pead, but they aren't essential.
I'd love to see Antwan Peek and Brad Jackson in the ring of honor.
Doss named the four I'd add.
I'd actually put Connor Barwin ahead of Bryant, but Bryant was a 1st-team All American so they almost have to put him in.
Oddly enough, even adding Barwin doesn't help with the lack of 2009 representation. Barwin was gone by then.
My conclusion is that '09 was a lot of good players rather than a few all-time great ones.
I think Barwin is more of a UC Athletics Hall of Famer than a ring of honor guy. He really only had one big time year for the UC football program. Guys like Peek, Trent Cole, Derek Wolfe, Byrd, hell even Craig and Hoke...had more impactful playing careers as defensive lineman than Barwin.
I think he should get strong consideration for the UC Hall of Fame because of that great football year and how much he was counted on to give minutes in basketball (Plus his NFL career and the all-around guy he seems to be are strong intangible factors).
Agreed that Barwin is a shoon-in for the UC HOF.
But he had more than just 1 great year. It's easy to forget that he was also a very good tight end his first three years.
Barwin was the 7th leading receiver as a Freshman as a backup behind Brent Celek. He scored a crucial TD against UConn in the 1st drive of the 3rd quarter.
Barwin was the 6th leading receiver as a Sophomore, again as Celek's backup. He had 5 receptions and 2 TD against WVU.
Barwin started at TE in 2007 as a Junior. He was the 4th leading receiver on the team.

In all seriousness those numbers show exactly what I remember about barwin. He had a solid, unremarkable career as a tight end then BK convinced him to move to defense and tapped into some greatness his final season.
Ran into so vt offensive linemen at a bar after the orange bowl. Gave them a joking "boooo". But they specifically singled out barwin for how tough he was to deal with.
