RE: Game Week: Toledo
I think we all kind of know what Finn can do since he played against us last year and even before that since he's a Detroit guy, we know he's a very good player. I was looking up some info on their backup in case Finn can't play. Tucker Gleason is big kid, 6'3" 230 lbs. He is 6-13 for the year for 67 yards and a touchdown. He has rushed eight times for 20 yards. He hasn't played much this year, the most passes he has thrown in a game is six. It looks like academically he is a junior but eligibility-wise he is a freshman who played a bit last year. His career numbers are 11-22, 136 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT while rushing 9 times for 24 yards. So, basically not much we can tell based on limited date, other than he probably isn't much of a threat to run (like Finn is) however...
He was actually a fairly big (3-star on Rivals and 247) recruit out of Florida. He had offers from Cincinnati, Georgia, Duke, Illinois, Kentucky, UNC, Pitt, Virginia Tech...among others. He ended up at Georgia Tech his freshman year of 2020 (which is why he is still only a freshman), didn't play at all, and transferred to Toledo. Rivals had him listed as a pro-style QB, while 247 had him as a duel-threat, he apparently rushed for over 1,000 yards as a high school junior. Just based on how he looks and his size, he probably isn't a burner, but could be a running threat...maybe a Rocky Lombardi-type?
