Anyone notice the new digital signage at the media row between the premium seating sections?

RE: Game Week: GVSU (x-hbiition)
My final thoughts on the exhibition, Emoni was the leading scorer without even breaking a sweat. At NO point was he ever selfish. In fact, a decent amount of the game he would just hang out on the perimeter for a shot or to just rotate the ball around. This might sound lazy, but actually helps his teammates tremendously- he is commanding attention the whole game so just opens space up for his teammates.

He had a couple bad looking turnovers and a looked a bit slow on his drives. But his shot and positioning is GREAT! 40% on threes may not sound that impressive, but he did that shooting from really deep. I don’t think he is the “next in line” as he was dubbed as a 15 year old. But he is clearly a 5 star recruit.

Not only did he look unselfish, but he looked happy out there playing basketball. Seemed like a thrill to him when he or a teammate had a good play… and I am thrilled to have him at EMU!

I did notice it, but couldn’t remember if it was new or if things just looked different since the premium seating was switched to 2 rows…

Is the scoreboard new too? Something seemed different about it. But again couldn’t tell?

My final, final thoughts on the exhibition. Excluding Legend, I feel much worse about EMU’s frontcourt after the exhibition than I did after the scrimmage. Hoping they prove me wrong.

But at some point, EMU might need to switch Emoni more of a stretch power forward role, put Tyson as the small forward and give Lovejoy, Luka, and/or Rice some more minutes… just a thought… and it is early in the season still.

I thought the new signage looked good. Looked like they modernized the fonts on the scoreboard a bit, but I believe those are new too. They may need to re-configure some of the graphics that were on the media row boards, as some got cut off by the mini scoreboard down there. But overall it certainly looked sharp. The board in the atrium looked great too.

two things I wish they'd figure out: 1) the sound in there so we could actually hear Keith and Dan! it sounded terrible last night. 2) figure out how to light the entrence from the atrium to the actual gym better. It is dark and the can lights they have do nothing. Pet peeve of mine really but it should be bright and say "welcome to our gym, be prepared for a show" and currently it's like walking into a dirty basement.

RE: Game Week: GVSU (x-hbiition)
Great posts everyone!

I talked to Noah at the football game and told him I felt he would still be the most talented player on the team. From what I understand, Noah is a quiet leader and I hope he becomes a vocal leader this season. I expect Noah to average about 18-20 ppg.

I’ll be excited to see Emoni’s growth next week. I’m sure he was a bit rusty but everyone got a glimpse of his shooting ability at 6-10”. Expecting Emoni to average 20-25 ppg in an efficient method (taking good shots) and fitting in. I loved a few pictures of Emoni with a smile on his face. If Emoni is having fun then he and EMU will be on his/our way because the kid has an unbelievable work ethic and success will come.

Can’t wait to see Acuffs smooth game.

Geeter is exactly what this team needs. A player unselfishly rebounding the basketball and looking for our big three : Noah, Emoni, Tyson.

How about Billingsley, Golson, Luka,Randle and Lovejoy? These guys are significant players with enough talent to have their own moments during a long sometimes injury filled season.

Now EMU - market the heck out of this team and the Convo will steadily fill to capacity if we WIN!! First chance on November 11.

One last thing, and I am moving on from the exhibition game… what the heck are you talking about, Super???? 07-coffee3

The kid scored 27 points, created for his teammates, and had at least decent defense. My sense is you did not want Emoni to come to EMU for some reason, and you are just looking for things to complain about (ie, he only doubled season ticket holders instead selling out the arena)… Let it go and enjoy it for what it is! (including the dunks 03-lmfao )

The score board lettering and numbers are too small.

It’s interesting that we’re getting more media for an exhibition game compared to MAC games.

Should be an electrifying season!!! Really enjoyed listening to Noah and Geeter and Coach Heath!

There were a small handful of photographers under the EMU basket. Flashback to Emoni's game at Lincoln. Get used to seeing this.

I’m hoping the media attention exponentially increases as the wins “Stack” up!

Looks like EMU has four solid scorers: Bates, Noah, Acuff, and Legsnd.

Heath needs to play perimeter defenders above the three-point line to force longer three's.

Interesting if someone missed last night's game they could have read Miggy's posts over the summer and figured it out: 3 perimeter scorers + Legend. PF is a question mark (that is why we hoped against hope for Johnson, the final piece of the puzzle).

Heath really like his perimeter players cheating in to help out inside. Doesn't seem to work too often. Has resulted in opponents shooting a high three-point shooting percentage.

EMU will need both Billingsley and Randle to be solid players.

Thanks for the notification! Makes me feel better about EMU’s performance against GVSU… Although, my understanding is that MSU is expected to struggle this season.

MSU ended up winning by 17 points- 73 to 56

I applaud GVSU’s performance! They strung together some very dec my showings against a top (normally) P5 school and 2 very strong mid majors!!

Oakland almost lost to Rochester College tonight.
They pulled it out late by 2.

Holy Moly! I think Jalen Moore was out for Oakland and if this was an exhibition Kampe has a been know. to heavily play his bench depending on the opponent. But still, what is going on?!?!?!
