Looking at this years roster
I wonder what next year's team will look like. This year's squad has 5 fifth year seniors, 5 fourth year seniors, 2 juniors, 1 sophomore , 2 freshman. That includes the walk ons which aren't seniors or juniors. Is Hardaway going to go all transfers or will he continue to gamble with snot-nosed superstar teenagers?
If you look at all the top recruits...
Wiseman
Achiuwa
Cisse
Green
Hampton
Bates
Duren
Did any of them really do our "team" any good? 3 never played and only Achiuwa and Duren turned out to be important contributors. An NIT championship and only one NCAA win between all of them. Even though this group makes a pretty nice group of NBA players.

It will be a blend of 4/5 stars and transfers.
Staff is strong.
No fear of penalties so what do opposing coaches say now?

RE: Looking at this years roster
11 of 16 on the roster are either 5th-year, red-shirt seniors or just seniors.
Like it or not we're locked into the portal.
Our high school recruiting class last year was not in the top 100.
So far this year we don't have a top 100 recruit.
Of the top 100 players for 2023, we're listed in only 2 of the non-committed players #45 and #67, and not predicted to get either.
If we do lose all 11 seniors then we're totally reliant on the portal for at least one more year and possibly two.

Yeah, trolls trying to go at Hardaway on recruiting always lose. Not saying the OP is trolling, but they are out there.
As for the OP - Wiseman led to us signing a really good class including Precious and Lester. Duren helped break the NCAA drought, and with the win and the Gonzaga game, took some national heat off of Penny.
And these signings keep us relevant nationally.
Going forward, I agree - I think it's a mix of high talent frosh with proven transfers.
