Ja just makes everyone better. Even at the end of the game he could have kept the ball and got 4 free throws but he chose to pass to a struggling Bane instead. Great teammate to have.

Dallas and Doncic spanking us right now. Not sure why we didn't go after Christian Wood in the off season.

Christian doesn't play much defense at all. also has had good numbers on bad teams.
would you trade 4 current Grizz bench players plus LaRavia or Roddy for him?
that's essentially the price that Dallas paid (4 bench players + 2022 1st round pick) for him in the trade with Houston.

I think i like any 5 current bench players for the grizz over Wood.

He is a double double machine. They gave up the #26 pick and change to make the numbers work. The Grizz could have made a more sttractuve offer.

No matter now but with JJJ hurt he wluld have been a valuable addition. Jmo, not being critical of our front office but he was very affordable.

I'm sure they only reason we didnt pursue him is player development of our own young talent, not because of the asking price.

We will see. There were about 3 players I thought could have helped us, but we didnt really go after any of them. Most importantly we did resign Tyus Jones.

yeah he probably could've helped. But I would have preferred a FA signing where we didn't lose any assets. I just have red flags about anyone who has played for 7 teams in 7 years. that's alot of teams that saw something they could do without in wood.

Bane and Morant each scored 38 points and scorched the nets with a combined 12-17 from three in the Grizz victory tonight.

RE: Grizzlies Game Thread 22/23
Great game and we won too which makes a great game better.

Weird that the big story seems to be the foul on Simmons that fouled him out.

Brooks was terrible on offense but he locked Durant down to start the 3rd quarter. He just kept him from getting the all. As soon as Brooks went out Durant took over.

Ja's big dunk was 2nd on NBA's top plays. Brandon Clark's dunk was #1.

Roddy has been terrible. LaRavia has been a little better but both are clearly rookies. It's good that they are getting some playing time early similar to what Zaire did last season. Zaire looked really bad last year early. I love how Ja goes up to LaRavia after he missed the dunk and gave him some encouragement.

Even with the emergence if "rookies" in the lineup and bad lapses. It seems as if the Grizz have done much to improve the continuity/flow of the offense...Taking Ja offball, has been an improved area as well, as he is able to attack the defense from more areas of the court. On the contrary, the Nets can't seem to get out of their own way. This early part of the season for thr Grizz will allow them to gel and add critical components throughout, to be formidable in the playoffs. I really enjoy the Euro style offense, where players play to their strenths, giving the defense fits, not knowing who to focus on (from an attacking perspective) especially loading up on Ja 05-nono07-coffee3

what a VICTORY last night ... 4 players (2 from each side) scoring 35+ ... in the same game, in regulation. Not a common feat.

RE: Grizzlies Game Thread 22/23
For those that have been watching the first 4 Grizz games ... have y'all noticed that Ja is finishing with that layup drive that he missed during one of the playoff games against GS ... it was Game 1. Why it sticks around for me, is it could have been a game winner for Morant and the Grizz in Game 1. So, it has lingered and something Morant knows he can make.

So, every single game, this season, it feels he gets one or two of those same shots off AND he's been making it ... left-handed only, wide-layup off the left-hand side of the basket ... sink.

we are so lucky to be living in this Ja time. lol

yep, Game 1. Here is a timestamp of the play I'm talking about, the layup he missed, and what I've seen him make once/twice in every single game this season (granted, only 4 games played).

Ja has a good memory. Love the Ben Simmons trick he pulled although I am not sure that Brooklyn was better with him in the game.
