I don't mind playing teams from P5 conferences when there is a reasonable chance of winning, but those teams can't pay as much, either.

At this point, I don't know how great those teams are. Georgia is great, but Oklahoma and Washington fell out of the Top 25 and look to be more solid, but not great. That said, I don't think the football team needs to be fodder for the best teams in college football though.

True, Oklahoma, especially, was overrated. But still, they and Washington are at least among the top 30 FBS teams in the nation. and that makes them better than about 80% of the FBS field. I'd rather see them play perennial bottom-feeder P5 teams, but their paydays would, of course, be greatly reduced.

Or maybe 2 really and lucrative games and another home game when the weather is nice?

The idea of 1 or 2 money games is a good selling point to recruits. A kid from Ohio who would do well on scholarship at Kent, but has no business at OSU can still have the opportunity to play at the Horseshoe (or State College, West Lafayette, ect) before he gradates is a decent selling point. However, explaining to him that for 4 years we're going to schlep you around the country to get humiliated and beat up on national TV for a month is a complete drag. And then, with a little luck if your team survives to win 6 games, go to a bowl game all bandaged and bruised.
Good luck selling that to a 17-year old.

Quite certain we didn't get humiliated or beat up by anyone this year.

No, not at all this year. But thank God they didn't play Ohio State this year. Look what they did to Toledo.

Hearing the crowd's reaction was the best part. 03-lmfao

Curious if he was calling out an opposing player, or if it was a referee. Players have said worse to each other down in the trenches. 07-coffee3
