He is just asking to join. No harm in that.

Look, the SBC is in really good shape with the programs we have, the region we have, and the number of teams we have. CUSA may be UWFs only hope.

The number of scholarships, student athlete support services, facilities good enough to compete in today's recruiting world, fan support, corporate support......The gap is just way too big between DII and FBS.

I congratulate UWF for their success thus far. Let me remind you that during the first three years USA had football we played a mixed schedule of DII and FCS schools and had a 24-4 record. The fourth year we transitioned to FBS and played a full FBS schedule and went 2-10. We have yet to have a +.500 season since being full FBS. It's just very difficult to make the move up without a huge financial commitment...

Don't kid yourself by thinking the success, although very good, at the DII level equates in any way to success in big boy football.

They beat McNeese last year. http://www.northescambia.com/2021/09/uwf...eese-state

I think we should invite Jacksonville University back so we can have our own Jacksonville like CUSA does.

Fun to speculate but why consider additions that offer little if any value. Value relative to where you are in the race for relevance.

At the current pace how long will it take to outrun the guy next to us? Serious question. Assuming the P2 movement continues. They can’t drop us from schedules soon enough to stop the bleeding and we’re getting better faster than they are.

UWF started football in 2015 and has made the DIV II playoffs three times. D2 champions in 2019.

Record of 44 and 19 from 2015-2021 and currently 4 and 1 this season. https://goargos.com/sports/football/schedule/2022

Built and played first game in OCS stadium this year. SBC should invite UWF and help with transition to FBS.

RE: SBC should start looking at UWF for membership
I just have to shake my head at all the ideas promoting the addition of more schools. The conference is in the best shape it's ever been and we do not need any others unless an ECU or Memphis comes knocking on the door. We're at 14 now, and there comes a point for diminishing returns. Now if something did happen in the future and the conference lost four schools, I'd look at adding schools like UTC and Missouri state, where there isn't already a cluster of FBS schools (USM/USA/Troy). Or better yet, ask other FBS schools if they're interested (LT/WKU).

UWF can't sell out a 5100 seat stadium.. But you think they should expand to make a run at the SBC.. UWF should at least get up to FCS first then make the jump and slowly make the upgrades.. You seem to think the Belt should just jump on UWF, but the Argos are not ready.

There's a ton of work that needs to happen there, but at the current moment, the SBC isn't looking at the lower ranks for teams, they're only open if a viable option is there. Gill said as much.. Sorry UWF isn't a viable option. End of conversation.

Good point but which schools are relevant.
