Redbird Arena naming rights
ISU sells Redbird Arena naming rights for $3.1M over ten years.

This provides something in a benchmark.

I certainly don’t view $300K per year as truly significant.

RE: Redbird Arena naming rights
Since the esteemed and venerable Grotto is gone, I think we should sell the Convo naming rights to Lover's Playground for about $300.

If we could be so lucky to sell naming rights to Vienna Beef, that would almost ensure that hot dogs would be well stocked in the Convo.

RE: Redbird Arena naming rights
I have a feeling NIU would gladly sell the Convo naming rights for $3.1 million over 10 years. Good for ISU.

FYI. As I recall in November 2018, UIC got $9.5 million for naming rights to its Pavilion, now called Credit Union One Arena. Deal was $750,000 to its general scholarship fund and the rest over 15 years.

Plenty of mid-major schools have unsold venue naming rights laying around. Grab what you can get as long as it's tangible.

ISU got a slap in the face when hometown State Farm bought naming rights in Urbana instead of at home. Nice they got something, our facility is in a major Chicago area flight path, lets sell those roof rights...

With our motto "The Hard Way" it should be easy to start a bidding war for naming rights to Huskie stadium ... Viagra, Levitra or Cialis.

Since it has been said that the Convo looks like a big urinal cake, I suggest we try to get a urinal cake manufacturer for naming rights.

Remember UIC is on near west side of Chicago and can be used for more profitable events. They have 5 million people 30 minutes or less from the venue

Aware of that. Was just citing the most recent deal I could recall.

Also, it's been about 4 years. Has the NIU effort gone by the wayside?

Maybe they lumped it in with the Master Plan.

Wow. I had to blink twice. I almost thought this was a picture of the renovation of the Convo.

Hadn't thought of the State Farm thing but, interestingly CEFCU is headquartered in Peoria where there's Bradley and an unnamed arena there too. Granted, I think the city owns Carver Arena and, techinically the place is called the Peoria Civic Center but I believe the arena is Carver but I can't quite figure out who or what Carver is. I've googled around for a few minutes coming up with literally no mention of why the name. Not on wikipedia, not on the Bradley Braves website and not on the Civic Center website.

They all just say it has been called Carver Arena but nothing says why.

Anyway, enough of that tangent. My point was I don't know if Peoria is trying to get a corporate sponsor for the place (I have no idea why they aren't) but if they did, they just lost CEFCU to Bloomington.

They still have Caterpillar though. And Avanti's...home of the gondola, which is both the most loved sandwich in Peoria and also the most disappointing and boring sandwich I've ever eaten.

I just googled Avanti's out of curiosity (because I wanted to remind myself how disappointing that dumb sandwich is) and apparently the city has also lost Avanti's as google tells me it has "Permanently Closed".

What a shame.

I have never understood why Ideal Industries in Sycamore hasn’t ponied up. They are a major advertiser at Wrigley Field.

SF paid 60 million for 30 years. That's a deal. MVC is not the B10 which is either on it's own network covering 1/2 the country (soon to more with CA market) or national tv each week. Not to mention 15k fans and a seat in research park near SF Center.

They also have naming rights to the Atlanta Hawks arena.
