They weren't illegal because they were seeking asylum due to sitations in their home countries. Whether or not those asylum claims succeeded had not yet been adjudicated, so they might have been granted asylum or denied and returned home. DeSantis' stunt opens the door for them to potentially be granted U visas for crime victims and be allowed to stay, irregardless of whether or not their original asylum claim would have been granted or rejected.

They, simply, do not know how to govern. And when the bulk of your platform is to rail against the government you get elected to, it's not hard to see why.

But that beggars the question, didn't trump promise to drastically reduce the national debt? How'd that work out?

Finally, haven't checked recently, but hasn't our budget deficit declined quite a bit lately under Biden. And yes, I know that's different than the national debt, do you?
