Football should not be played in a baseball stadium. Probably the last time UNA hosts an old rival and they move it an hour away. I'll be there but not thrilled about the location even though I live closer to Madison than Florence.

Both Yankee Stadium and fenway park host bowl games. The full-length football field barely fits in both.

Most NFL teams began their histories playing in baseball stadiums.

My parents went to a Falcons game at Fulton County once and said the viewing was terrible.

As did I. I remember scoring a touchdown, in the end zone that was the warning track of the right field corner. (I wonder if we played each other?)

Also, the first fall of UAB baseball--when we first started the program and were at Rickwood--the field was still set up for football and not baseball, because no one had been playing baseball there for several years. There were portable bleachers one side, and the mound was shaved down and flat.

I was there and the best thing I can say is we won. I was in the end zone behind the first base dugout where everyone scored so that was nice but it was hard to really follow the action from that perspective. Maybe if the seats had been higher I'd have had a better view but it is a minor league stadium.

The sideline seats on the home (third base) side were at an angle and a ways from the field. Our band was on temp bleachers behind our bench but the director posted on Facebook he couldn't see the game. UNA band was seated far behind the left field fence (defensive end) so I know they couldn't see anything.

The DJ y'all ***** about must moonlight in Madison because I had loud music blaring in my ears between every play. The lighting wasn't great and the strobe light thing they kept doing made my head hurt.

I think that was an annual “event” years ago if I’m not mistaken. Moody played in one of the games?
