Good idea from Ingram to tell all the football coaches to assume everything they're hearing from their agents regarding Ingram talking to other people is true. Eliminates any awkwardness, is transparent, then if you get the job you know it's because he thought the current staff was the best option.

RE: Tony Kurre’s Interview with Mark Ingram
I imagine that random account on Facebook that has a hard on against Ingram will have a field day because Ingram is “going behind the current staffs back and talking to other candidates” or something.

Regardless, this was a great interview. I’m glad that the tough questions were being asked since nobody else seems to ask them. And I love how Ingram was straight up with it. He didn’t talk circles around it “oh we will wait and see with Vincent blah blah” and clearly stated that he was upfront with Vincent and the staff.

Also makes me feel like Ingram will not settle for a lesser candidate, I think he realizes how good of a job UAB Football is in the G5 ranks and that we should definitely see what all is out there. I’d still assume if Vincent finishes with 10+ wins this season he will be a finalist (which is theoretically possible with CCG & Bowl).

Ingram gets a lot of hate on here, some I agree with but some I do not. I think overall he’s been a great AD and ambassador for UAB. Never expected the AD to walk up to me on the sidewalk and ask input on the gameday experience, but Ingram is that kind of guy. I trust that he will handle this search well and make a home run hire, Vincent or not, even if it’s to bolster his resume for a more prestigious job.

Ingram is a very good AD. There's some ***** boys on here that complain about him but I think we are lucky to have him.

Even that is not entirely true (although obviously Watts signed off on him), but I don't want to rehash the story again.

I was actually impressed with this interview, more than I thought I was. I was surprised how much I agreed with Ingram to be honest.

Yeah, I don’t get the hate either. I think he’s done a hell of a job.

Yeah I think he thought he was answering that he thinks Clark would like to be coaching next year in general not necessarily at UAB.

I have mixed. Feelings about the man BUT I think anyone who criticizes him for talking to other coaches or “going behind the coaches backs” needs to look up the meaning of the word interim

RE: Another Tony Kurre Interview with Mark Ingram
There are things about Ingram I have my problems with, but I will absolutely give him credit for this: He's gotten all of our sports into decent facilities. Baseball needs help still, but it's starting to happen. Bartow needs an upgrade, but again, it's coming.

A lot of the AAC people who were around when we were both in C-USA remember our facilities as they were then. We're light years better off now.
