I am less than impressed with the coaching in this game. In fact, to play for field goals is not going to make it in this game. And where is that new defensive coach?

Difference in the game. Their receivers are close to 100% on 50/50 balls, ours are 0%.

Trash deep ball. TD if you hit him in stride. Catch if you under throw it a bit. Off the DBs helmet if you massively under throw him.

Yes, but the receiver also looked so disinterested on making a play there. Compare that and other misses to Walker and Cephas with their TD grabs today, huge difference in effort.

We can’t win anything with this defense. And what the hell is up with our punter?

The ball hit the DBs helmet. If you catch a deflection like that it's mostly luck.

This team needs Terry Francona to come talk to them about not giving up.

If you’re waiting on the ball to reach you then of course you need to play the deflection. But if he’s actively reaching for the ball he’s grabbing it at the same time it hits the mask.

Our defensive coach is having lunch with Joe Woods.

He was in a dead sprint and had to stop. Would've been very hard for him to get his momentum stopped and get turned around to compete for the ball. He hasn't played well but I have a hard time putting that play on anyone but Schlee.

He would’ve had to make a play on the pass, somehow their receivers found ways to make similar plays on every pass to them in the end zone today.

I realize that the days of a good I formation team vs. a wing t team are gone. And that’s fine. Sad. But fine.

But you will never sell me on “flash fast” until you brand and produce a defense that plays the game of football. May as well add Toledos coach to the list of hot candidates. Miami’s too.

Current staff had to swing from slow offense to FAST offense, but now a recalibration is needed to find whatever the happy "middle" is

Sometimes even a blowout turns on one play. This game turned on that deep ball to Cephas that was brought back, all downhill from there. That would’ve really put a dagger in them. Oklahoma we’re up 3-0 going out to kick a FG right before the half, miss it, allow them to go downfield and score quickly, 7-3 them and all momentum going into the locker room.

I agree

Every football game has a window in which you either strike, survive or call it a day.

That was a huge call. And they never showed a replay where you could see how far down field the O lineman was. At least one big play being taken off the board due to an ineligible man down field is a staple of the Lewis era. It's a call you could make all the time if you wanted, but when your a team with a reputation for doing it they're going to watch you closer.

We need to win 4 of the remaining 5 just to be bowl eligible.

I think it was the big kickoff return after Kent went up 21-0. Toledo fed off that energy as Kent lost theirs.
