Will New Capital Campaign Start/Restart?
As the years pass, there appears to be little momentum for a new capital campaign. UT raised $50 million in the mid 1990's and $100 million (The Time Is Now campaign) in 2008. In a list of goals published in 2016(?), UT had a 100% target date for a new comprehensive capital campaign in 2022 https://www.utoledo.edu/strategicplan/Reputation.html.

There appears to be a mini campaign to celebrate the University's sesquicentennial that would last only one year.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green finished a capital campaign in 2021 raising $255 million and Miami is in the middle of a $1 billion campaign. Toledo has had a turnover of presidents, and with Covid and the current economic downturn, maybe momentum has been lost.
Wasn't Mike O'Brien the chair of a new campaign? Any updates?

Always thought Dave and MOB doing dual work their last 18 (?) months for both Athletics and the Capital Campaign was unusual. I know that they were in touch with many fund raising targets but seemed to dilute both sides of their responsibilities. President Postel has a lot on his plate and hopefully getting FB back on track (at least for now) will help take pressure off of him and BtotheBlair. A win against Kent will go a long way in this regard.

That will hopefully give UT leadership time/resources to put towards enrollment, UTMC, etc.

UT has also had continued (and unfortunate) turnover at the VP for Advancement position, I recently met with the current one and seems like him and staff are pretty energized, should be a priority for the institution to launch the next campaign and would seem that 150th would be good place to start

Give the AD a year to sort out needs and I am sure something will get started. Random things that would be nice

Lights in Glass bowl

Glass bowl Tower party decks

North end zone field suites party area. (The stuff that is there could be kept elsewhere)

Equipment for winter time ice rink at alumni pavilion

Dig up stadium drive to drastically improve visitor locker room to make more compelling for visiting teams. Tunnel to health ed building?

I hope to God that our admin isn't focused more on football results than running an institution...

RE: Will New Capital Campaign Start/Restart?
Winning football game is great for players, coaches and fans (and always helpful for Athletic Dept fund raising) but does nothing to raise profile of UT as academic institution to attract more students, increase enrollment, improve overall University fundraising (student scholarships) nor help the financial bottom line of UT as even if the Rockets win MACC and also a bowl game-they still cost the University operating budget more than they bring in $$$.

Evidence is clear following the 2017 MACC, there was no huge influx of new students, alumni giving, fund raising, or funds from Athletics that reduced their continued and long time need for financial support from UT operating budget.

Have been UT employee and Rockets fan for almost 25 years, I go to many of the game, support the teams and players, so understand the place Athletics has at UT and value it provides to the institution and most importantly to the student athlete, but in terms of future of UT and addressing the significant and ongoing budget and financial challenges, UT Football and other sports contribute nothing. So be fan, support the teams, go to games and enjoy, that's all fine and great entertainment -but that's all it is and unless donors raise millions in additional support directly into UT Athletics, don't expect more in terms of facilities, new sports etc...

And no, UT football and Athletics is far from the top priority of President Postal and senior administration- they want a clean (no violations or academic issues), fun, successful program for sure, but that's all their interest is, far more important issues and tasks to address at UT.
