Going to see the Kent State at Miami game today. Individual stats for the Flashes against Ohio last week:

That might seem to be impressive at face value, but it was against Ohio U. They have given up an average of just under 42 points/game - including Fordham who scored 52. Total yards and average yards/game:
Passing - 1,903 TOTAL and 383/game
Rushing - 989 TOTAL and 197/game

Should be a good game against Miami, but I'd be surprised if they can accumulate the yards they did against OU - maybe 400-450 instead of 736. They only scored 31 points including 7 in OT on that 736 yards of offense. Had 9 penalties for 80 yards and 2 turnovers. Ohio had no turnovers and only 4 penalties for 35 yards. Ohio also barely led on TOP (call it even) 30:06 to 29:54. If you are weak on defense, the offense better not be turning the ball over, getting penalties, while helping control the amount of time the defense is on the field. OU also had 450 yards of offense on Kent State.

RE: Next week's football Opponent
Very good entertaining game at Yeager field. I love day football in Oxford. KSU almost came back against the defensive minded Redhawks as they trail 24-7 at one time and made a game of it in the 4th quarter. Kent St with their uptempo offense permits very few substitution by the defense. The Flashes ranked 11th in the nation in plays per game prior to playing the Redhawks. QB Collin Schlee, Junior, 6-3, 213 had a very good game, throwing 23/40, 306 yards, and 3 TD's through the air. One pass attempt, Schlee threw the ball for 70 yards in the air. He posses a very strong arm and can run when given room. He throws a tight spiral. Running back Bryan Bradford, RS Junior, 6-0-251 is a load to bring to down. In this game he carried the ball 9 times for 43 yards. RB Marquez Cooper is their #1 running back, 5-7, 190, Junior, 13 carries for 32 yards against the Hawks. For the season he is 125/543, 4.3 average, with 6 TD's, long 31 yards. He earlier rushed for 21 times for 90 yards against Georgia. Last 2 games now, their FG kicker has had 2 attempts blocked, so they're maybe something there for the Rockets. Miami's back up QB was adequate, more of a runner than a passer, nevertheless he was able to exploit the Flashes passing defense for 2 long broken coverage passes.

I thought he was an OU, taking a shot at the rivals? Isn't attendance at Miami pretty bad?

It was homecoming in Oxford. Decent crowd, but the one thing I couldn't understand, after half time with the Redhawks up 24-7, the Miami families started leaving in droves where I was sitting, about the 25 yardline 40 rows up.

Could you bring to the light the similarities or differences to a game there vs. at UT? Im fascinated with how other schools count attendance, and overall comparison from our home games to other schools.

Maybe not a lot of people live in Oxford so are getting early start home? IDK, if it's me, I'm staying and hitting the town a bit. What's the point of homecoming if not that?
