I am happy with this. In the longrun I think it will pay off for C-USA.

I hope this leads to a C-USA invite for EKU, since apparently Missouri St. turned them down.

If true, I'm betting it's being driven by our media contract deal to get the Atlanta market and to get us to 10 which makes for 5 games a week of conference play. I don't know much about KSU other than what little the folks around here have said. It's a big public school in the Atlanta suburbs.

Then again, most of these early announcemnet/predictions turn out to be bull.

KSU has only been a program 10 years and has had a huge rise. Big student population, big market and near Atlanta airport, and financially better off than other addition contenders. Great at baseball, and generally have been good at football.

Been reading up on them. They are only one of two DII schools with national championships from four different sports at the DII level (baseball, softball, men's basketball, and. women's soccer). They began transition to D1 in 2005.

I’m good with KSU. I’m not going to lie, MTSU has made out fairly nicely with these new additions being close by.

WKU was so closeeeee to the MAC. MTSU pulled out last minute to get a cut of the exit fees… which they are now putting towards a coaches contract extension the fans don’t want.

I’m so sorry guys. Maybe Eastern Kentucky gets the nod? Would WKU want that?

That eastern division is actually not bad geographically...and yes, as a WKU fan, I'm OK with EKU.

As to your west division, I'd wager it'd be SFA and not MoSt.

Also, why not just call them North and South?

Why would any team in the west/south put up with being in that division. Y'all gotta be stuck with FIU. You can't just pair them with NMSU/UTEP because the travel is going to suck anyway.

That's a big fat no for me boys. That completely screws over SHSU, LaTech and (if added) MoSt. How do those 3 ended up in the same division as NMSU, UTEP and then FIU??? Why not group is together with Jax, Western, and Middle?

The same would apply if FIU were in the other division. It's a flight regardless and no travel partner. The benefit to FIU is a Florida vacation on the beach for the players and fans who make the trip. Lol. Oh...and that Florida recruiting thingy.

This has to considerably increase the media payout for this to make sense.

FIU in the same division as UTEP/NMSU is ludicrous.

Don't worry. It'd only be for a year or so. In case you haven't heard, WKU will be in the MAC, UTEP and NMSU will be in the MWC and MTSU will be in the AAC. Then CUSA will refill with SFA, McNeese, and Jackson State. Then FIU flips back to the east.

I say put WKU in the West so they can get even more salty with MT for blocking their MAC move lol.

Anyway, I didn’t mean to derail this thread. The light should be firmly shining on Kennesaw St. They bring a lot of potential to C-USA.
