Ridiculous. Wonder what would happen if that actually happened?
Clearly the author of the article does need therapy.

The only thing notable about it is that the Mets waited ‘til the end of Sept. to collapse. This normally happens by July.
I don't follow BB like I did growing up but I just checked the standings and I noticed both the Braves and Mets have won 100 games this year.
Not every day you see two teams with 100 wins in the same division.
Last year Giants and Dodgers. But it is unusual.

The whole thing is an exercise in victimhood…….always a victim. I/We can’t succeed, we are being held down.
It’s easy to blame failures on “others” while never looking in the mirror.

Before my son moved to Japan, one sporting event that we liked to do as a father-son trip was the annual US stop on the World Rugby Sevens tour--in LA, San Diego, or Las Vegas in differing years. We became fans of the Kenya team because we liked their style of play (one I tried to emulate with my teams) and because we enjoyed hanging out with their fans. I remember a conversation with one of them, an expat living in New York. He said, "I have absolutely no use for most black Americans. I grew up in a mud hut in Kenya, and now I own my own software firm. If I can do that, then so can they if they stop feeling sorry for themselves."

Yep, in 1993 Braves won 104 and Giants won 103. At the time they were in the same Division, the NL West. Giants missed out of postseason. That was a great pennant race. It's also the reason the Wildcard was invented. MLB didn't like a team winning that many games NOT making the playoffs.

yea, usually I can stop watching them by the all-star break. This year had to suffer with my married into Braves family last weekend.

Fiji was another team that became a favorite of ours. Our first year was 2011, Nicky Little's last year of playing internationals.

Say what? Ghana is the most Americanized country in Africa. I've been there, the US has a HUGE influence there through the USADF and USAID.

Maya Angelo once said the first thing you [a black person] learn when you go to Africa is that you’re a American

In fairness that applies to other "Proud to be Irish/Scottish/Italian-American" types out there. My wife's family is a very stereotypical Italian-American family and when most of them have gone to the "old country" to visit they were disappointed because they realized was a completely different culture than what what the Italian-American experience is in this country.
